Description
Technological sector of invention [001] The present invention belongs to the industrial sector, and refers, more specifically, to a device that prevents drums from falling during operation, prevents crushing of limbs and excessive strain on the operator, and corrects problems of inadequate ergonomics. State of the art [002] In the industrial sector, handling 200-liter drums is a common task, but one that is fraught with challenges requiring extra attention. One of the most commonly used methods today involves the use of a steel cable attached to the middle of the drum, strangling it so that it can be lifted and transported. Although this approach is widely adopted due to its simplicity, it presents a number of difficulties and risks. The main concern is the lack of stability during handling, as the drum can move unpredictably, increasing the risk of accidents such as falls or leaks of substances contained inside. [003] Furthermore, this method requires considerable physical effort from the operators, who need to control the drum manually while it is suspended. The lack of a safe and specific anchor point for this type of operation also puts the physical integrity of the workers at risk, exposing them to possible injuries. [004] Given these difficulties, the need for a specialized safety device for handling drums is evident. This device should provide a more secure fixing point, distributing the load evenly and reducing unwanted movements. In addition, a suitable safety system could include locking or quick-release mechanisms, facilitating handling and minimizing the risks associated with manual operation. The implementation of such a device would not only increase worker safety but also improve efficiency and accuracy in handling drums in industrial environments. New Invention Details [005] The adoption of a specific safety device for operating with 200-liter drums brings a number of fundamental advantages to the industrial environment. Firstly, this type of device is designed to ensure operator safety throughout the task, providing greater control and stability, which is crucial in high-risk operations. [006] One of the main advantages is the elimination of the risk of the drum falling during operation. With a secure fastening system, the drum remains firmly anchored, reducing the possibility of slippage or loosening that could result in serious accidents. This factor is essential not only for the operator's protection but also for the integrity of the material contained in the drum. [007] Another significant benefit is the prevention of crushing injuries to workers involved in the activity. The safety device is designed to keep hands and other body parts away from risk areas, minimizing the chance of accidents that may occur while handling the drum. [008] Furthermore, the technology employed in these devices makes it possible to avoid unwanted movement, known as swaying, while the drum is being lifted. This results in a more stable and predictable operation, reducing the need for corrective interventions that could compromise safety. [009] Finally, the device also facilitates and speeds up the drum tipping process, which is essential in transferring oil to equipment that requires lubrication. With the appropriate mechanism, this step can be performed more quickly and efficiently, reducing operating time and increasing productivity, without compromising the safety of those involved. Description of the attached drawings [010] In order that the present invention may be fully understood and put into practice by any technician in this technological sector, it will be described in a clear, concise and sufficient manner, based on the attached drawings, which illustrate and support it, listed below: Figure 1 represents the perspective view of the device; Figure 2 represents the rear perspective view of the device; Figure 3 represents the side view of the device; Figure 4 represents the front view of the device; Figure 5 represents the rear view of the device; Figure 6 represents the top view of the device; Figure 7 represents a schematic of the device's use. Detailed description of the invention. [011] The safety device for working with drums, mainly 200-liter drums, consists of an articulated support (1) formed by a square tube (1A) which, on the front, has a bar (1B) that is fixed to a pivoting pin (1C) and is fixed, on the back, to the strap adjustment ratchet (3); on the front and back, integrated into the articulated support (1), are rubber bands (2) that contribute to friction/grip in contact with the drum, installed by means of supports (1F); between the supports (1D)(1E) and the bands (2) are arranged polyester straps (4); on the back, a polyester strap (5) is wrapped around the screw (5B) on the support (1D) and attached to the ratchet (3) by means of the screw (5A); and the supports (1D)(1E)(1F), as well as the ratchet (3), are fixed by screws.
