Description
[001] The present invention relates to the pet industry and, more particularly, to a fastening support for animal chewing equipment to hold a chewing article securely and firmly in place and a method of producing a fastening support for an animal chewing article. DESCRIPTION OF THE STATE OF THE ART [002] Pets enjoy treats, snacks, and chew toys. Pet owners give these chew items not only for the animal's enjoyment, but also for utilitarian reasons such as training, energy diversion, and reward. [003] If the pet is from the canine family, enthusiastic, aggressive or even destructive chewing is a dominant characteristic, and bone-type chewing items are a popular toy for dogs. [004] In addition, the bone serves as a kind of entertainment for the animal and also helps to exercise the jaw muscles and clean the teeth. [005] Therefore, professionals dedicated to these animals are aware that chewing items of the bone type should be offered to dogs in a way that they are fixed in place, preferably without contact with the ground. [006] This makes it possible to simulate the instinct to dominate a prey that has eventually been killed, as well as to improve hygiene during the chewing of the bone. [007] The state of the art offers various solutions for providing chewing articles for pets. [008] Document US9004011, for example, refers to a pet chewing article support device that is provided with a weighted structure designed to keep a pet within a certain area while consuming or chewing the article. The weighted structure is in the form of a weighted bag that has a base in contact with the ground and an article fastening handle on the upper portion. In this way, the weight of the bag prevents random movement of the article attached to the handle while it is offered to the pet. [009] It is observed, however, that the aforementioned prior art device forces the pet to lie tilted downwards, in a position that is not suitable for chewing, making it difficult to exercise the muscles in that region. [0010] Document US9848585 refers to a pet chewing article holder having a weighted base fixed to the ground, which includes a member extending vertically from the base, the member comprising at its end a spring which, in turn, comprises a clamp adapted to support a chewing article. [0011] Although the aforementioned document solves the problem of the height of the chewing article, it is observed that this support is applicable to articles, as well as pets, of smaller size. For example, the base of the support is fixed to the floor by suction cups. Furthermore, it is notable that a clamp-type clamp does not provide a robust fixation of the chewing article against enthusiastic, aggressive or even destructive chewing of the article. Moreover, the use of a spring will certainly cause accidents to the pet due to the elastic effect of the support, given that the force applied to the article may generate a back-and-forth effect. [0012] Document US20180303071, in turn, refers to a pet chew toy holder consisting of a cylindrical casing with a side opening that provides access to a bench-type vise, mounted inside the casing, for securing the toy. The casing extends vertically from a base rigidly fixed to the floor. [0013] Although the aforementioned support presents robustness in its configuration, while at the same time allowing the article to be positioned at a certain height from the ground, it is observed that attaching part of the chewing article internally to a closed enclosure results in the accumulation of dirt on the support, impacting the hygiene of the chewing environment. Furthermore, the aforementioned support of the prior art comprises a complex structure of many components. [0014] Considering such inconveniences, document PI 0500875-1 refers to a pet chew toy holder comprising a base with holes for fixing the holder to walls by means of screws, the base being integral with an inclined tube segment or a hollow transverse tube segment in which the chew toy will be attached. [0015] It should be noted that the aforementioned support can be positioned at a suitable height for the type of pet while providing a robust fixation of the support, preventing the accumulation of dirt on the support. However, regarding the fixation of the chewing article itself, the use of an inclined tube segment will notably result in the detachment of the chewing article (outside the tube) during enthusiastic, aggressive or even destructive chewing in the opposite direction to the segment. In addition, the pet may end up biting/gnawing the tip of the inclined tube segment. For a hollow cross-section segment, it is observed that this positions the chewing article very close to the wall. [0016] In accordance with all the above, there is no pet chew toy holder in the state of the art that adequately secures the holder and the chew toy, while also providing the correct positioning and height for the type of pet, supporting the muscles in the animal's jaw area
