Description

[001] The present invention relates to a new cast wagon end cap with integrated front stops and replaceable rear stops, configured to be associated with a wagon projection replacing the end of an old end cap. Description of the state of the art [002] Railway wagon end caps are a part of the coupling system used in trains and railway wagons, located at the ends of each wagon, and designed to fit into the coupling device. Their role is essential in the secure connection between wagons, ensuring the efficiency and safety of rail transport as a whole. There are different types of railway coupling systems in use worldwide, and the end caps can vary according to these systems. In general, these end caps comprise impact surfaces between the wagon couplings. [003] The impact surfaces on the end caps of the prior art are subjected to cyclic stresses and end up suffering damage, and there are no specific structures with a configuration that minimizes this damage. Therefore, the present invention proposes a new end cap configured to replace the end caps of already installed wagon end caps that provide an increase in their service life from a new geometry of the structures that compose it, in particular, the bumpers. [004] Patent BR102017007866-3 discloses a coupling adapter support for a wagon that has a tip without describing stops or easily replaceable wear plates that protect it from friction resulting from operating conditions. Objectives of the Invention [005] A primary objective of the present invention is to provide a more durable wagon end cap with greater resistance to wear generated by friction between internal components, in particular the stresses resulting from railway operation, where one wagon pulls or compresses another wagon through couplings. [006] A second objective of the present invention is to provide a wagon tip equipped with elements that can be more easily replaced in case of failure. [007] A third objective of the present invention is to provide a wagon end cap capable of replacing the end caps of anti-gas end caps without the need to alter or replace other elements of the central stringer. [008] A fourth objective of the present invention is to provide a wagon end cap with reduced welding and fewer components compared to other end caps in the prior art. Brief Description of the Invention [009] The present invention relates to a wagon end cap comprising a end cap body, a first set of wear plates, a second set of wear plates, a first rear stop and a second rear stop, wherein the end cap body is provided with front stops comprising projections on its inner wall, wherein said end cap body is associated with the wagon projection, the first set of wear plates is associated with the inner part of the side walls of an intermediate portion of the end cap body, the second set of wear plates is associated with the inner part of the side walls of a portion adjacent to the end of the wagon projection, the first rear stop is associated with the inner part of one of the side walls of the wagon projection and the second rear stop is associated, symmetrically in relation to the first rear stop, with the inner part of the other side wall of the wagon projection. [0010] In one embodiment, the wagon end cap comprises a central "U" shaped portion whose front end comprises a frame with a rectangular portion whose lower edge projects downwards forming a trapezoidal face provided with holes, the body of the end cap also comprises a rear portion in which the edges of the central portion are provided with notches for association by means of welding to the projection of the wagon, in which the body of the end cap further comprises side tables provided with holes or slots. [0011] In another embodiment, wear plates comprise rectangular metal plates having at least one pair of holes that allow the use of joining means. [0012] In another embodiment, the central portion is provided with at least one pair of holes in each side wall for the attachment of wear plates, preferably by means of screws or rivets. [0013] In another embodiment, the front stops each comprise a substantially triangular projection with a flat rear face perpendicular to the wall of the central portion. [0014] In another embodiment, the wagon end stop comprises a first rear stop comprising a rectangular metal plate whose upper edge is provided with a notch and the inner face is divided into two sections, a first section comprising a first set of parallel horizontal channels that begin at a point near one end of the inner face and end at a point near the center of the inner face and a second section comprising a second set of parallel horizontal channels that begin at a point near the other end of the inner face and have their height gradually and continuously reduced until they reach the height of the bottom of the channels in the central region of the inner face. [0015] In another embodiment, the wagon end stop comprises a second rear stop comprising a
