Description

FIELD OF APPLICATION: 1. The aforementioned seedling and microgreen irrigation tray, whose protection will be claimed in this report, was developed with the aim of enabling any individual to irrigate seedlings of vegetables or other plants and microgreens in a way that automates the entry of water with nutrients. The seedling and microgreen irrigation tray can be used by any seedling and microgreen producer, alleviating difficulties, solving problems, addressing deficiencies, and helping to reduce crop losses due to lack of water with nutrients, since water circulation can be fully automated. INTRODUCTION: 2. This utility model patent application refers to a thermoplastic injection-molded tray, whose main feature is the holes on the sides so that they can be joined side by side to form a set of trays according to the producer's needs. 3. This tray stands out primarily for its practical, simple, and functional design, which facilitates the production of seedlings and microgreens. The design of this project allows for continuous or automated irrigation of seedlings and microgreens, with water and nutrients entering from one side of the tray and exiting from the opposite side. The seedling and microgreen irrigation tray has unique, exclusive, and innovative functional aspects, which will be described below, making it an exclusive product on the market. CHARACTERISTICS: 4. The seedling and microgreen irrigation tray (1) in question, presented in this report, is composed of: a tray produced by injection molding, with a rectangular shape, holes on the sides with housing for a sealing ring or silicone (1.4) to allow continuous or intermittent irrigation of seedlings and microgreens, with water and nutrients entering on one side and exiting on the opposite side; a quick-connect fitting (1.1), with internal threads, mounted on the threaded connections (1.2) to connect the water and nutrient inlet and outlet hoses; a threaded connection (1.2), with a cylindrical shape and an external thread, to mount the quick-connect fitting (1.1) for water and nutrient inlet and outlet and to connect the trays (1) by pressing the sealing ring or silicone (1.4); a locking nut (1.3), with a cylindrical shape and an internal thread, to connect the trays (1) by pressing the sealing ring or silicone (1.4). FIGURES: 5. Initially, to better demonstrate these characteristics, and aiming for a clear and objective understanding of the provisions applied in this utility model privilege, a drawing and flowchart will be presented for illustrative purposes, making reference to the attached report. 6. FIGURE 1 illustrates a perspective view of the seedling and microgreens tray, product (1), containing the tray (1). 7. FIGURE 2 illustrates a top view of the seedling and microgreens tray, product (1), containing the tray (1). 8. FIGURE 3 illustrates the detail of the drilling on the side with the recess for mounting the sealing ring or silicone (1.4), containing the tray (1). 9. FIGURE 4 illustrates a perspective view of the set of trays mounted side by side, containing the tray (1); the quick-release fitting or coupling (1.1); the threaded connection (1.2); the lock nut (1.3) 10. FIGURE 5 illustrates a perspective and cutaway view of trays mounted side by side, containing the tray (1); the spigot or quick coupling (1.1); the threaded connection (1.2); the lock nut (1.3); the sealing ring or silicone (1.4). 11. FIGURE 6 illustrates a perspective and cutaway detail of the water inlet and outlet assembly with nutrients, containing the tray (1); the spigot or quick coupling (1.1); the threaded connection (1.2). 12. FIGURE 7 illustrates a perspective and cutaway detail of the assembly between the trays, containing the tray (1); the threaded connection (1.2); the lock nut (1.3); the sealing ring or silicone (1.4). 13. It should be clarified that the images above illustrate the equipment in a demonstrative and non-restrictive manner, whose design may vary in terms of its measurements, raw materials, dimensions, etc., without logically deviating from the main scope for which protection is claimed. FUNCTIONALITY: 14. Initially, the aforementioned product, described in this report, will be used in rural areas or vertical farms by producers of seedlings or microgreens. 15. The trays will be mounted side by side, according to the producer's needs, automatically fed with water and nutrients in order to guarantee a continuous or intermittent flow, with the water and nutrients entering on one side and exiting on the opposite side. The producer will then place the seedling or microgreen containers on top of the trays for irrigating seedlings and microgreens. INNOVATION: 16. In general terms, the aforementioned product represents a more practical solution compared to the trays that exist on the market. 17. Therefore, the main advantage of this product is the ease of irrigating all trays with water and nutrients, eliminating the risk of seedlings or microgreens dry
