Abstract

This utility model patent application pertains to the furniture segment and refers more specifically to an opening limiter inserted in a cup-type hinge for furniture doors, which notably limits the opening angle, making it smaller than the total projected opening of the hinge; said solution has a clip that partially surrounds the hinge cup's pivot pin; this clip prevents the limiter from coming out of position, even during high opening and closing cycles of the door, maintaining its action on the hinge at all times.

Claims (1)

  1. 01) “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN OPENING LIMITER LOCATED IN HINGES FOR FURNITURE”, conceives an opening limiter (1) inserted in cup-type hinges (2) for furniture doors; characterized by being composed of a structure (3) equipped with a clip (4), partially surrounding the hinge's axis pin (5) and fixing it, preventing the limiter from moving out of position; containing filleted cuts (6) and an extruded cut (7) distributed along the structure (3), which together with the clip (4), limit the angle of the hinge's opening (2).

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD [001] This utility model patent application pertains to the furniture segment, and refers more specifically to an opening limiter inserted in a cup-type hinge for furniture doors, which notably limits the opening angle, making it smaller than the total projected opening of the hinge. [002] This solution has a clip that partially surrounds the hinge cup's pivot pin; this clip prevents the limiter from coming out of position, even during high door opening and closing cycles, maintaining action on the hinge at all times. HISTORY OF THE TECHNIQUE [003] During the colonial period, furniture was simple, made of local wood such as jacaranda, and followed the Portuguese style, with robust, hand-carved pieces. When the Portuguese court arrived in 1808, furniture in Brazil began to become more sophisticated, with European influences and more decorative details. Production also became more organized, with the creation of carpentry workshops and the importation of furniture. [004] At the end of the 19th century, industrialization brought machines that allowed mass production, making furniture cheaper and more accessible to the population. From the 1930s onwards, modernism brought a simpler and more functional design, using local materials. It was then that Brazil began to develop its own style of furniture. [005] In the following years, furniture design in Brazil continued to evolve, blending tradition and innovation. Today, the country is known for its creative design, which reflects the local culture. In addition, there have been advances in components such as door hinges. Formerly, they were simple and rusted easily, but over time they began to be made of better materials, which greatly improved the durability and functionality of doors, keeping pace with the evolution of furniture in the country. [006] Cup hinges, also known as concealed hinges or hole hinges, are a type of hinge used primarily in furniture, such as cabinets and kitchen doors. They are called "cup hinges" because of the circular shape of the part that is embedded in the furniture door, similar to a cup. [007] These hinges allow the doors to open smoothly and silently, and are adjustable in multiple directions (height, depth and side), which facilitates perfect door alignment. They are invisible when the door is closed, giving the furniture a cleaner and more aesthetic finish. State of the Art Analysis [008] We can find on the market the most varied hinge devices for furniture doors. In research carried out in specialized databases, documents were found, such as document no. BR 102020001987-2 which deals with a “DAMPING MECHANISM APPLICABLE TO HINGE”, the invention deals with a type of damping mechanism applicable to a hinge, guaranteeing considerable functional and operational improvement, aiming to present a low-cost alternative with simplified assembly, seeking to keep the damping assembly integrated into the hinge. The invention comprises a base arm (1), equipped with an adjustment screw (2); A torsion spring (3) is mounted, together with one end of the connecting element (4), by means of one of the rivets (5) on the base arm (1), the other end of the connecting element (4) being fixed to the articulated cup (6) by means of the clamp (7), which also fixes one end of the connector (8) to the articulated cup (6), while the other end of this connector (8) is fixed to the base arm (1) by means of the other rivet (5) allowing its articulation, characterized by the fact that a linear damping element (9) is housed next to a lower support protrusion (10) of the base arm (1) and supports its movable rod on a circular base (11), both being mounted in a sliding manner within an activating element (12), positioned next to the contact end with cam-shaped protrusion (13) of the connecting element (4), duly structured. [009] Document No. BR 102021008075-2, which deals with a “HINGE WITH DAMPING MECHANISM”, describes a hinge with a damping mechanism positioned under the wedge and housed in a U-shaped chassis, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly by uncoupling the arm and chassis, as well as assembly by sliding the wedge towards the arm followed by screwing. [010] Document No. BR 112015031816-9 which deals with a “HINGE WITH DAMPING FOR FURNITURE”, a hinge (10) for mounting a door on a piece of furniture or similar comprises a hinge arm (11) that can be placed on a fixed part (12) of the furniture, a housing (14) fixable to a door of the furniture and connected to the hinge arm (11) by means of an articulation system (15) comprising a variety of oscillating connecting levers and spring-loaded devices (27) acting in the closing direction of the hinge (10); the hinge (10) further comprises a damping device (29) with a housing (30), supported and configured in such a way that it can be disposed on one of the front or side walls (11’, 11”) of the hinge arm (11), and a linearly movable drive member (31) actuatable by one of the oscillating conne
