Description

Vehicle airbag system Technical Field The present disclosure relates to the field of vehicle seating and, more particularly, to a vehicle airbag assembly. Background A vehicle may include one or more airbags that may deploy during a vehicle collision to absorb energy from an occupant of the vehicle during the collision. The airbag may be a component of an airbag assembly that includes a housing supporting the airbag and an inflator in communication with the airbag to inflate the airbag from an uninflated position to an inflated position. Disclosure of Invention An assembly includes a seat. The assembly includes a housing. The assembly includes an airbag inflatable to an inflated position, the airbag having first and second inflatable legs extending from the housing, and an inflatable member extending from the first inflatable leg to the second inflatable leg. The assembly includes a tether having a first end secured to the first inflatable leg and a second end spaced apart from the first end and the airbag. The inflatable member may be elongated upwardly and away from the seat when the airbag is in the inflated position. The seat may be rearwardly facing. The second end of the tether may be rearward of the seat. The assembly may include a roof, the housing being supported by the roof, and the second end of the tether being secured to the roof. The assembly may include a roof, the inflatable member being spaced apart from the roof when the airbag is in the inflated position. The seat may include a seat back defining a midpoint, the first and second inflatable legs extending below the midpoint when the airbag is in the inflated position. The assembly may include a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to actuate the airbag in response to detecting a rear-end collision of the vehicle. The assembly may include a second seat, the first seat and the second seat being positioned to face each other. The assembly may include a second housing. The assembly may include a second airbag inflatable to an inflated position, the second airbag having first and second inflatable legs extending from the housing, and an inflatable member extending from the first inflatable leg to the second inflatable leg. The assembly may include a second tether having a first end secured to the first inflatable leg of the second airbag and a second end spaced apart from the first end of the tether and the second airbag. The assembly may include a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to actuate the airbag and inhibit actuation of the second airbag upon detection of a vehicle collision. An assembly includes a housing. The assembly may include an airbag inflatable to an inflated position, the airbag having first and second inflatable legs extending from the housing and along a longitudinal axis, and an inflatable member extending from the first inflatable leg to the second inflatable leg along a lateral axis. The assembly may include a tether having a first end secured to the first inflatable leg and a second end spaced apart from the first end and the airbag. The first inflatable leg may have a first end and a second end spaced apart from the first end along the longitudinal axis, and a first length at the first end and a second length greater than the first length at the second end when the airbag is in the inflated position. The assembly may include a second tether external to the airbag and having a first end secured to the first inflatable leg and a second end spaced apart from the first end and the airbag along the longitudinal axis. The first end of the tether may be spaced apart from the first end of the second tether along a vertical axis.
