Abstract

The present disclosure provides a display device. The display device includes a display panel, an active area, a peripheral area, an input sensor, and a pattern layer. The peripheral region is adjacent to the active region. The input sensor is disposed on the display panel and includes a first pattern and a plurality of detection electrodes. The pattern layer is disposed on the input sensor and includes a second pattern that overlaps the first pattern when viewed on a plane. Any one of the first pattern and the second pattern transmits and receives signals. The other of the first pattern and the second pattern includes a shielding member that shields or reflects a signal provided from either one of the patterns. The transmission component transmits the signal.

Claims (16)

  1. 1. A display device, comprising: A display panel having an active area and a peripheral area adjacent to the active area; an input sensor disposed on the display panel and including a plurality of detection electrodes; A pattern layer disposed on the input sensor; A plurality of antenna patterns provided in the input sensor or in the pattern layer, and A plurality of additional patterns disposed in the pattern layer, wherein each of the plurality of additional patterns includes: A shielding assembly overlapping a corresponding antenna pattern of the plurality of antenna patterns in a plan view and configured to shield signals provided from the corresponding antenna pattern, wherein the shielding assembly includes an electrically floating conductive material, and And a transmission component overlapping the corresponding antenna pattern in the plan view, not overlapping the shielding component in the plan view, and configured to transmit a signal from the corresponding antenna pattern, wherein an area of the shielding component is smaller than an area of the transmission component in the plan view.
  2. 2. The display device according to claim 1, wherein the additional pattern overlaps with an entire area of the corresponding antenna pattern in the plan view.
  3. 3. The display device according to claim 1, wherein the antenna pattern and the additional pattern overlap the active region when viewed on the plane.

Technical Field The present disclosure relates herein to a display device. Background The display device may be used to communicate information to a user or between multiple users. Smart phones, computers, televisions, and navigation units are examples of display devices. The display device may include a display panel providing visual information to a user, and various electronic modules such as an antenna, a camera, or a battery. As the demand for thinner, lighter, and more convenient electronic devices increases, the display device may be reduced in size. The size of the electronic module inside the electronic device can then also be reduced accordingly. Additionally, the functionality and specifications of the electronic device and the number of electronic modules or antenna modules in the electronic device may be increased. That is, electronic devices are becoming smaller and more functional. As a result, there is a need in the art for systems and methods that reduce the size of an electronic module while maintaining the effectiveness of the electronic module. Disclosure of Invention The present disclosure provides a display device having improved antenna efficiency. Embodiments of the inventive concept provide a display device including a display panel having an active region and a peripheral region adjacent to the active region, an input sensor disposed on the display panel and including a first pattern and a plurality of detection electrodes, and a pattern layer disposed on the input sensor and including a second pattern overlapping the first pattern when viewed on a plane, wherein one of the first pattern and the second pattern transmits and receives a signal, and the other of the first pattern and the second pattern includes a shielding member shielding or reflecting the signal provided from the one pattern, and a transmission member transmitting the signal.
