Abstract

Claims (18)

  1. 1. An apparatus for alerting about vehicle driving, comprising: a sensor configured to obtain a state of a driver and a state of a vehicle; An input device configured to receive risk criterion information input by a driver, the risk criterion information including a critical speed defined based on a tendency of the driver and a holding time of a driving assistance function; A storage device configured to store at least one program instruction for execution by a controller, which when executed by a processor, causes the device to: setting at least one additional warning output condition based on the risk criterion information input by the driver; determining whether the additional warning output condition is satisfied based on a state of the driver and a state of the vehicle; Outputting an alert based on disabling the driving assistance function and an additional alert in response to determining that the additional alert output condition is satisfied; In response to determining that the additional warning output condition is not satisfied, outputting only a warning based on disabling the driving assistance function, and not outputting the additional warning; Wherein the driver's trends include warning outputs that the driver tends to require frequent detection of dangerous conditions and warning outputs that the driver tends to require infrequent detection of dangerous conditions.
  2. 2. The apparatus for alerting of vehicle driving of claim 1 wherein the controller is configured to receive risk criteria information input from the driver in response to determining to deactivate the driving assistance function based on the status of the vehicle obtained from the sensor.
  3. 3. The apparatus for warning about vehicle driving of claim 1, wherein the controller is configured to adjust the additional warning output time based on a threshold speed and a hold time.

The apparatus for warning about vehicle driving according to claim 1, wherein the controller is configured to set as an additional warning output condition that the driver is in a hand-off state, no warning based on the hand-off state is output, the speed of the vehicle exceeds a critical speed, the holding time of the driving assistance function exceeds the holding time input from the driver.
  5. 5. The apparatus for warning about vehicle driving of claim 4, wherein the sensor is configured to obtain the status of the driver by sensing a hands-off status of the driver not holding the steering wheel.

The apparatus for warning about vehicle driving of claim 6, wherein the controller is configured to output the additional warning through the output device in response to determining that the condition for outputting the additional warning is satisfied based on the state of the driver and the state of the vehicle, to output the additional warning based on the critical speed and the output time adjusted for the holding time.

The apparatus for warning about vehicle driving according to claim 7, wherein the output means is configured to output a warning based on disabling the driving assistance function by an image representing the warning, and to output an additional warning by a visual pop-up function and an audible function.
  9. 9. The apparatus for warning about vehicle driving of claim 1, wherein the driving assistance function comprises a lane keeping function.
  10. 10. A method for alerting about vehicle driving, comprising: Obtaining a state of a driver and a state of a vehicle using a controller; receiving risk criterion information input by a driver, the risk criterion information including a critical speed defined based on a tendency of the driver and a holding time of a driving assistance function; setting at least one additional warning output condition with a controller based on the risk criterion information entered by the driver; Determining, with a controller, whether the additional warning output condition is satisfied based on a state of the driver and a state of the vehicle; Outputting, with the controller, a warning based on disabling the driving assistance function and the additional warning in response to determining that the additional warning output condition is satisfied; responsive to determining that the additional warning output condition is not satisfied, outputting, with the controller, only a warning based on disabling the driving assistance function, and not outputting the additional warning; Wherein the driver's trends include warning outputs that the driver tends to require frequent detection of dangerous conditions and warning outputs that the driver tends to require infrequent detection of dangerous conditions.
  11. 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the risk criteria information entered from the driver is received in response to determining to deactivate the driving assistance function based on a state of the vehicle.
  12. 12. The method of claim 10, wherein the additional alert output time is adjusted based on a critical speed and a hold time.

The method according to claim 10, wherein an additional warning output condition is set for a case where the driver is in a hand-off state, no warning based on the hand-off state is output, a speed of the vehicle exceeds a critical speed, and a holding time of the driving assistance function exceeds a holding time input by the driver.
  14. 14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the driver's state is obtained by detecting a hands-off state in which the driver does not hold the steering wheel.
  15. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein the status of the vehicle is obtained by detecting a speed of the vehicle.

Background In recent years, intelligent driver assistance systems have been developed to improve the convenience of the driver. The intelligent driver assistance system may perform a driving assistance function that assists a driver of the vehicle in driving while maintaining a lane or speed in consideration of a road in front of the vehicle and obstacles around the vehicle. Also, the intelligent driver support system may alert the driver that the driving assistance function is disabled when the driving assistance function cannot be performed. However, since the warning based on disabling the driving assistance function is intensively performed, the driver may not recognize the warning and may determine that the usability is lowered. Or the driver may feel danger due to lack of warning. Therefore, a technique capable of outputting a warning based on the tendency of the driver even when the driving assistance function is disabled is demanded. Disclosure of Invention The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, while fully retaining the advantages achieved by the prior art. One aspect of the invention provides a vehicle driving warning apparatus and method for outputting a warning based on a driver's tendency when a driving assistance function is disabled. The technical problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited to the above-described problems, and any other technical problems not mentioned herein will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains from the following description. According to one aspect of the present invention, an apparatus for warning about driving of a vehicle may include a sensor configured to obtain a state of a driver and a driving state of the vehicle, an input device configured to receive risk criterion information from the driver, the risk criterion information including a critical speed defined based on a tendency of the driver and a holding time of a driving assistance function, and a controller configured to set at least one additional warning output condition based on the risk criterion information, determine whether the additional warning output condition is satisfied based on the state of the driver and the driving state of the vehicle, and output a driving warning based on a result of the determination. The controller may be configured to receive risk criterion information input from the driver when the controller determines to deactivate the driving assistance function based on the state of the vehicle obtained from the sensor. The controller may be configured to adjust the additional alert output time based on the threshold speed and the hold time.
