Abstract
The present application relates to a display device including a digitizer. The display device including a folding area and a non-folding area includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, and a digitizer disposed at one side of the display panel and including a plurality of loop coils, wherein the digitizer increases an alternating current signal applied to at least one loop coil of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the folding area when a hover event of an input unit is detected in the folding area, and calculates a hover height of the input unit based on a change in a magnetic field between the input unit and the loop coils of the plurality of loop coils including a loop coil overlapping the input unit and an adjacent loop coil surrounding the input unit.

Claims (19)
- 1. A display device comprising a folded region and an unfolded region, the display device comprising: A display panel including a plurality of pixels, and A digitizer arranged at one side of the display panel and comprising a plurality of loop coils, Wherein when a hover event of an input unit is detected in the folded region, the digitizer increases an intensity of an alternating voltage applied to at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the folded region, and calculates a hover height of the input unit based on a change in a magnetic field between the input unit and a loop coil of the plurality of loop coils including a loop coil overlapping the input unit and an adjacent loop coil surrounding the input unit, and Wherein the plurality of loop coils have a first width and a first thickness in the folded region and a second width and a second thickness in the unfolded region, the second width being less than the first width and the second thickness being greater than the first thickness.
- 2. The display device of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of toroidal coils has a linear shape.
- 3. The display device of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of toroidal coils has a zig-zag shape.
- 4. The display device of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of loop coils has a linear shape in the non-folded region and a zig-zag shape in the folded region.
- 5. The display device of claim 1, wherein the at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the fold region defines a plurality of through holes therein.
- 6. The display device of claim 1, wherein the plurality of loop coils includes a first portion corresponding to the folded region and a second portion corresponding to the unfolded region, and an end portion of the first portion contacts an end portion of the second portion.
- 7. The display device of claim 6, wherein the end portion of the first portion of the plurality of loop coils overlaps over the end portion of the second portion.
- 8. The display device of claim 6, wherein the end portions of the first portions of the plurality of loop coils overlap under the end portions of the second portions.
- 9. The display device of claim 1, wherein the plurality of loop coils includes a first portion corresponding to the folded region and a second portion corresponding to the unfolded region, and the first portion and the second portion are provided as a single body.
- 10. The display device of claim 1, wherein the digitizer extends the fold-over region when the hover event of the input unit is detected in the fold-over region.
- 11. The display device of claim 10, wherein the digitizer increases an alternating voltage applied to at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the extended fold area.
- 12. The display device of claim 10, wherein the digitizer increases an alternating voltage applied to at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed within an area extending a predetermined range from a position of the input unit within the extended folded area.
- 13. A display device comprising a folded region and an unfolded region, the display device comprising: a digitizer comprising a plurality of loop coils, wherein the plurality of loop coils have a first width and a first thickness in the folded region and a second width and a second thickness in the unfolded region, the second width being less than the first width and the second thickness being greater than the first thickness, Wherein when a hover event of an input unit is detected in the fold-over region, the digitizer increases a strength of an alternating voltage applied to at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the fold-over region.
- 14. The display device of claim 13, wherein each of the plurality of toroidal coils has a linear shape.
- 15. The display device of claim 13, wherein each of the plurality of toroidal coils has a zig-zag shape.
- 16. The display device of claim 13, wherein each of the plurality of loop coils has a linear shape in the non-folded region and a zig-zag shape in the folded region.
- 17. The display device of claim 13, wherein the at least one of the plurality of annular coils disposed in the fold region defines a plurality of through holes therein.
- 18. The display device of claim 13, wherein the digitizer extends the folding area when the hover event of the input unit is detected in the folding area, and The digitizer increases an alternating voltage applied to at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the extended fold area.
- 19. The display device of claim 18, wherein the digitizer increases an alternating voltage applied to at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed within an area extending a predetermined range from a position of the input unit within the extended folded area.

Technical Field One or more embodiments relate to a display device, and more particularly, to a display device including a digitizer. Background Electronic devices that provide images to users, such as smart phones, digital cameras, laptops, navigation devices, and smart televisions, include display devices that display images. The display device generates an image and provides the image to the user via the display screen. Recently, with the progress of display device technology, various forms of display devices have been developed. Various flexible display devices are being developed that are foldable or rollable or deformable in a curved form. The flexible display device is easy to carry and can enhance user convenience. Disclosure of Invention One or more implementations include a foldable display device including a digitizer capable of detecting a precise position of an input unit. Additional features will be set forth in part in the description which follows, and in part will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the presented embodiments of the invention. According to one or more embodiments, a display device including a folded region and a non-folded region includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, and a digitizer disposed at one side of the display panel and including a plurality of loop coils, wherein when a hover event of an input unit is detected in the folded region, the digitizer increases an alternating current ("AC") signal applied to at least one loop coil of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the folded region, and calculates a hover height of the input unit based on a change in a magnetic field between the input unit and a loop coil of the plurality of loop coils including a loop coil overlapping the input unit and an adjacent loop coil surrounding the input unit. In an embodiment, the plurality of loop coils may have a first width and a first thickness in the folded region and a second width and a second thickness in the unfolded region, the second width being less than the first width and the second thickness being greater than the first thickness. In an embodiment, each of the plurality of loop coils may have a linear shape. In an embodiment, each of the plurality of loop coils may have a zigzag shape. In an embodiment, each of the plurality of loop coils may have a linear shape in the non-folded region and a zigzag shape in the folded region. In an embodiment, at least one of the plurality of loop coils disposed in the folded region may define a plurality of through holes therein.
