A body-wearable therapeutic device for treating a plurality of neurological disorders and conditions of the central nervous system by applying a plurality of electromagnetic fields thereto, the device comprising a coil mounting portion and a body mounting portion, the coil mounting portion being removably mounted on the body mounting portion, and a system comprising at least one database storing information relating to a plurality of treatment protocols, a server in communication with the at least one database, and a body-wearable therapeutic device in communication with the server, the body-wearable therapeutic device comprising a coil mounting portion and a body mounting portion, the coil mounting portion being removably mounted on the body mounting portion.

Claims (17)

  1. 1. A body-wearable therapeutic device for treating a plurality of neurological disorders and a plurality of conditions of the central nervous system by applying a plurality of electromagnetic fields thereto, characterized in that the device comprises. A coil mounting portion including a head surrounding portion positionable relative to the head of the patient and extending to a rear portion positionable relative to the back of the patient, and an electromagnetic field generating coil extending from the head surrounding portion along a length of the rear portion, and A main body mounting portion; the coil mounting portion is detachably mounted on the main body mounting portion.
  2. 2. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 1, wherein the coil mounting portion is selectively positionable relative to the body mounting portion.
  3. 3. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 1 or 2, further comprising an electronic control unit.
  4. 4. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 1 or 2, wherein the coil mounting portion comprises: A coil support base plate formed to define the head surrounding portion and the rear portion, and The electromagnetic field generating coil is mounted on the coil supporting substrate.
  5. 5. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 4, comprising an electronic control unit, wherein the electromagnetic field generating coil is a single coil connecting the electronic control unit at a plurality of opposite ends thereof.
  6. 6. The body-worn therapeutic device of claim 4, wherein said electromagnetic field generating coil is formed of a flat braided conductor.
  7. 7. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 4, wherein the electromagnetic field generating coil is disposed in interconnected upper and lower electromagnetic field generating coil winding portions.
  8. 8. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 4, wherein the electromagnetic field generating coil comprises a plurality of coil windings held in a stacked orientation with respect to one another by a plurality of connectors.
  9. 9. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 7, wherein the upper electromagnetic field generating coil winding portion extends along a top edge of the coil support substrate adjacent the head surrounding portion and up and down along a length of the rear portion.
  10. 10. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 7, wherein the lower electromagnetic field generating coil winding portion extends along a bottom edge of the coil support substrate adjacent the head surrounding portion thereof and extends up and down along a length of the rear portion adjacent an edge thereof.
  11. 11. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 3, wherein the control unit provides at least one of the following functions: Communicating with an external server storing a plurality of treatment protocols to download a plurality of specific treatment protocols for a given patient at a given time; A wave generating function operable to control the application of current to the electromagnetic field generating coil according to the plurality of specific treatment protocols for a given patient at a given time, and A feedback function operable to provide feedback confirming progress of the plurality of particular treatment protocols.

The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 3, wherein the control unit provides at least two of the following functions: Communicating with an external server storing a plurality of treatment protocols to download a plurality of specific treatment protocols for a given patient at a given time; A wave generating function operable to control the application of current to the electromagnetic field generating coil according to the plurality of specific treatment protocols for a given patient at a given time, and A feedback function operable to provide feedback confirming progress of the plurality of particular treatment protocols.
  13. 13. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 3, wherein the control unit provides all of the following functions: Communicating with an external server storing a plurality of treatment protocols to download a plurality of specific treatment protocols for a given patient at a given time; A wave generating function operable to control the application of current to the electromagnetic field generating coil according to the plurality of specific treatment protocols for a given patient at a given time, and A feedback function operable to provide feedback confirming progress of the plurality of particular treatment protocols.
  14. 14. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 1 or 2, wherein the body-mounting portion comprises an elastic band formed with a narrowed portion at a rear side portion thereof.
  15. 15. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 14, wherein the coil mounting portion includes a channel through which the elastic band extends to provide selective vertical positioning of the coil mounting portion on the body mounting portion.
  16. 16. The body-worn therapeutic device of claim 1 or 2, wherein the body-mounting portion comprises a shoulder strap.
  17. 17. The body-wearable therapeutic device of claim 16, wherein the shoulder strap is configured to position the coil mounting portion relative to a patient.

Technical Field The present invention relates to systems, devices and methods for treating neurological conditions and disorders of the central nervous system, and more particularly to systems, devices and methods for treating neurological conditions and disorders of the central nervous system by applying electromagnetic fields thereto. Background Systems, methods and devices are known for treating neurological disorders of the central nervous system by applying electromagnetic fields thereto. Disclosure of Invention The present invention seeks to provide improved devices, systems and methods for treating a plurality of neurological disorders of the central nervous system. Thus, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a body-wearable therapeutic device for treating a plurality of neurological disorders and conditions of the central nervous system, the device comprising a coil mounting portion and a body mounting portion, by applying a plurality of electromagnetic fields thereto, the coil mounting portion being detachably mounted on the body mounting portion. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the coil mounting portion is selectively positionable relative to the body mounting portion. Preferably, the body-wearable therapeutic device for treating a plurality of neurological disorders and conditions of the central nervous system, by applying a plurality of electromagnetic fields thereto, further comprises an electronic control unit. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the coil mounting portion includes a coil support substrate formed to define a head surrounding portion and a rear portion, and an electromagnetic field generating coil mounted on the coil support substrate. Preferably, the electromagnetic field generating coil is a single coil connected to the electronic control unit at a plurality of opposite ends thereof. Additionally or alternatively, the electromagnetic field generating coil is formed from a flat braided conductor. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the electromagnetic field generating coil is arranged in the upper and lower electromagnetic field generating coil winding portions connected to each other. Additionally or alternatively, the electromagnetic field generating coil includes a plurality of coil windings held in a stacked orientation with respect to one another by a plurality of connectors. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the upper electromagnetic field generating coil winding portion extends along a top edge of the coil support substrate adjacent the head surrounding portion and extends up and down along a length of the rear portion inside thereof. Preferably, the lower electromagnetic field generating coil winding portion extends along a bottom edge of the coil support substrate adjacent the head surrounding portion thereof and extends up and down along a length of the rear portion adjacent an edge thereof.
