Abstract

The electrophotographic photosensitive member according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the support is formed of an Al alloy, and the Al alloy contains, with respect to the total mass of the Al alloy, 0.6 mass% or less of Si, 0.7 mass% or less of Fe, 0.05 mass% or more and 0.20 mass% or less of Cu, 1.0 mass% or more and 1.5 mass% or less of Mn, and 0.10 mass% or less of Zn.

A process cartridge, characterized in that it integrally supports the electrophotographic photosensitive member according to any one of claims 1 to 4 and at least one unit selected from the group consisting of a charging unit, a developing unit, and a cleaning unit, and is detachably mounted to a main body of an electrophotographic apparatus.
- 6. An electrophotographic apparatus, characterized in that it comprises the electrophotographic photosensitive member according to any one of claims 1 to 4, a charging unit, an exposing unit, a developing unit, and a transferring unit.

Electrophotographic photosensitive member, process cartridge, and electrophotographic apparatus Technical Field The present invention relates to an electrophotographic photosensitive member, a process cartridge including the electrophotographic photosensitive member, an electrophotographic apparatus, and a method of manufacturing the electrophotographic photosensitive member. Background The electrophotographic photosensitive member is used as an image bearing member in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus (e.g., a printer or a multifunction peripheral). The electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a support and a photosensitive layer formed on the support. The roughness of the surface of the support fluctuates according to the material of the support. The roughness of the surface of the support may affect the formation of latent images during electrophotography to cause image defects. In japanese patent application laid-open No. H01-29852, a technique is described that includes treating the surface of a cylindrical support to suppress image defects caused by roughness of the support surface. Disclosure of Invention According to the studies of the inventors of the present invention, the electrophotographic photosensitive member described in japanese patent application laid-open No. H01-29852, although image defects caused by a support can be suppressed, involves a problem of large long-term potential fluctuation. In view of the above, the present inventors studied a technique of treating the surface of a cylindrical support, by which both suppression of image defects and reduction of long-term potential fluctuations can be achieved. An object of the present invention is to provide an electrophotographic photosensitive member which suppresses image defects caused by its support and reduces long-term potential fluctuations. This object is achieved by the invention described below. That is, according to the present invention, there is provided an electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising a cylindrical support, and a photosensitive layer formed on the support, wherein the support has a surface formed of Al and/or an Al alloy, and wherein an IR peak area ratio A of the surface of the support determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy satisfies the following condition: A≥0.50 Wherein the IR peak area ratio A represents a ratio a/z of a peak area "a" in a range of 1,016cm -1 or more and 1,130cm -1 or less to a peak area "z" in a range of 650cm -1 or more and 1,130cm -1 or less.
