Description

Vehicle and method for controlling parking of the same Technical Field The present invention relates to a vehicle including a shift-by-wire (SBW) transmission that can park in a neutral gear of the transmission more conveniently, and a method for controlling parking of the vehicle. Background Typically, a conventional transmission of a vehicle is configured such that when a driver operates a gear selection device (e.g., a shift lever), gears are changed by mechanical linkage. Recently, the use of shift-by-wire (SBW) transmissions that change gear by electronic control is gradually increasing. The SBW transmission does not require mechanical linkage between the gear selection device and the transmission, and therefore has the advantage over mechanical transmissions that the gear selection device can be designed relatively freely, is less limited in terms of position arrangement, and requires less space to achieve a gear change. FIG. 1 illustrates various types of gear selection devices that may be applied to a typical SBW transmission. Referring to fig. 1, various types of gear selection devices can be implemented, for example, a button-type gear selection device 11 including a plurality of buttons corresponding to respective gears, a knob-type gear selection device 12 using a knob, and a bar-type gear selection device 13 similar to a shift lever applied to a mechanical transmission. A driver of a vehicle having an automatic transmission normally puts the transmission in a P range while parking the vehicle, but in a case where the vehicle can be in a state movable by an external force after parking, parking is completed in an N range of the transmission (referred to as "neutral parking" for convenience). In a mechanical transmission, neutral parking can be accomplished only by shifting a shift lever to an N-range after parking, but in a shift-by-wire (SBW) transmission, when an ignition switch of a vehicle is turned off, a P-range is automatically engaged for safety regardless of a range before the ignition switch is turned off. Therefore, in order for the driver to perform neutral parking, the driver can continuously complete a predetermined type of operation, so that the N range of the transmission can be maintained even when the ignition switch is turned off. This will be described below with reference to fig. 2. Fig. 2 shows various types of guidance messages related to neutral parking. Referring to fig. 2, if the gear selection device is the button type gear selection device 11 shown in fig. 1, when the N button is operated after parking, a guide message 21 "please press the N button for a long time" is outputted through a display provided in a combination meter or the like. Further, if the gear selection device is the knob type gear selection device 12 shown in fig. 1 or the bar type gear selection device 13 shown in fig. 1, the guide message 22 "please operate the bar in the N-range for a long time" is outputted as the knob or the bar is positioned to the N-range. When such operation is continuously completed, the transmission is shifted to the N range, and the information 23 "the transmission has been shifted to the N range" is output. As described above, in a vehicle having an SBW transmission, in order to perform neutral parking, the driver can always perform such inconvenient operations at his own discretion. Furthermore, the operation method of shifting to the N range differs depending on the type of the range selection device or the manufacturer, and it is difficult to intuitively recognize the operation method, and therefore, reference to the guide information may be required, thereby causing inconvenience to the driver.
