Description
Accessory for an aerosol-generating device with a heating element Technical Field The present invention relates to an aerosol-generating device. Background It is known to provide an aerosol-generating device for generating inhalable vapour. Such devices may heat the aerosol-forming substrate to a temperature that volatilizes one or more components of the aerosol-forming substrate without combusting the aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol-forming substrate may be provided as part of an aerosol-generating article. The aerosol-generating article may have a strip shape for inserting the aerosol-generating article into a cavity (e.g. a heating chamber) of an aerosol-generating device. The heating element may be arranged in or around the heating chamber to heat the aerosol-forming substrate after insertion of the aerosol-generating article into the heating chamber of the aerosol-generating device. An accessory or cap may be provided for closing the cavity. The accessory may be placed over the opening of the cavity. The accessory may cover a portion of the aerosol-generating article protruding from the cavity. The user can suck directly on the accessory. The accessory may have a mouthpiece over which the user draws. Disclosure of Invention It is desirable to have an accessory that improves the user experience. It is desirable to have an accessory that improves the user experience when the accessory is used with an aerosol-generating device. It is desirable to have an aerosol-generating device that improves the experience when used with an accessory. It is desirable to have an aerosol-generating system comprising an aerosol-generating device and an accessory that improves the user experience. It is desirable to have any of the above for improving the adaptability to different use experiences. According to an embodiment of the invention, an accessory for an aerosol-generating device is provided. The accessory may comprise a cavity for receiving an aerosol-generating article comprising an aerosol-forming substrate. The accessory may further comprise a heating element. The heating element may be arranged at least partially around the cavity. According to an embodiment of the invention, an accessory for an aerosol-generating device is provided. The accessory includes a cavity for receiving an aerosol-generating article comprising an aerosol-forming substrate. The accessory further includes a heating element. The heating element is arranged at least partially around the cavity. The heating element of the accessory enables heating of the aerosol-forming substrate of the aerosol-generating article. This can be used in different ways. As a first option, the accessory may be used with an aerosol-generating device, wherein the aerosol-generating device already provides a heating option for the aerosol-generating article. In this first option, the accessory enables a secondary heating option to be provided for the aerosol-generating article. This secondary heating option may enable the user to provide improved aerosol generation. The heating characteristics of the aerosol-generating device may be modified by providing an accessory that also heats the aerosol-generating device. Different parts of the aerosol-generating article may be heated by the accessory than parts of the aerosol-generating article heated by the aerosol-generating device. For example, a proximal portion of the aerosol-forming substrate of the aerosol-generating article may be heated by the accessory and a distal portion of the aerosol-forming substrate of the aerosol-generating article may be heated by the aerosol-generating device. In addition, the user may use different types of accessories in combination with a single aerosol-generating device. Different types of accessories may each include different heating characteristics. Thus, by using a single aerosol-generating device with different types of accessories, different aerosol-generating schemes may exist. As a second option, the accessory may be the sole heating source for heating the aerosol-forming substrate of the aerosol-generating article. In this case, the aerosol-generating device may not heat the aerosol-forming substrate of the aerosol-generating article. This may be desirable for heating a proximal portion of an aerosol-forming substrate of an aerosol-generating article. Alternatively, the accessory heats all of the aerosol-forming substrate of the aerosol-generating article. For example, as described in more detail below, the aerosol-generating device may be used only as a power source for the heating element of the accessory. The heating element may be an induction heating element comprising a susceptor and an induction coil. The susceptor may be disposed at least partially around the cavity of the accessory. The susceptor may be disposed entirely around the lumen of the accessory. The susceptor may at least partially form a sidewall of the cavity of the accessory. The susceptor may ful
