Abstract

According to some embodiments, a convertible recreational vehicle includes one or more front ground engaging members, one or more rear ground engaging members, and a frame supported by the one or more front ground engaging members and the one or more rear ground engaging members. Further, the convertible recreational vehicle includes a steering assembly configured to steer the one or more front ground engaging members. Further, the convertible recreational vehicle includes a seat assembly supported by the frame and configured to support at least one rider, and a motor configured to drive at least one of (i) the one or more front ground engaging members and (ii) the one or more rear ground engaging members. In addition, the convertible recreational vehicle includes a floor panel that includes a surface that extends across a width of the floor panel.

Claims (20)

  1. 1. A convertible recreational vehicle, comprising: A pair of front ground members; A pair of rear ground members; a frame supported by the pair of front ground engaging members and the pair of rear ground engaging members; a steering assembly configured to steer the pair of front ground engaging members; A seat assembly supported by the frame and configured to support at least one rider; a motor configured to drive at least one of the pair of front ground members and the pair of rear ground members; A floor panel including a surface extending across a width of the floor panel, and A divider comprising a first end coupled to a front portion of the convertible recreational vehicle and a second end configured to contact the seat assembly, wherein the first end is coupled to the front portion in a manner that allows the divider to rotate downward toward the floor panel about an axis perpendicular to a plane bisecting the convertible recreational vehicle to be separated from the seat assembly.
  2. 2. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the floor panel includes a raised edge along at least one side of the floor panel.
  3. 3. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the steering assembly is translatable along a vertical axis or along a tilt axis relative to the vertical axis.
  4. 4. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 3, further comprising a locking mechanism configured to lock the steering assembly at a locating height.
  5. 5. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the seat assembly is translatable along a vertical axis or along a tilt axis relative to the vertical axis.
  6. 6. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 5, further comprising a locking mechanism configured to lock the seat assembly at a locating height.
  7. 7. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the seat assembly is translatable along a horizontal axis.
  8. 8. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the steering assembly includes at least one headlamp.
  9. 9. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, further comprising at least one battery.
  10. 10. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 9, wherein the at least one battery is integrated in the floor panel.
  11. 11. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 9, wherein the at least one battery is located above the floor panel.
  12. 12. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the seat assembly includes a hinge mechanism that allows the seat assembly to tilt forward.
  13. 13. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the floor panel ground clearance is greater than 6 inches and less than 12 inches.
  14. 14. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, further comprising a body panel releasably coupled to the frame by a spring clip.
  15. 15. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the motor is mounted on a rear swing arm of the convertible recreational vehicle.
  16. 16. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the motor is an axial flux motor.
  17. 17. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, wherein the floor panel includes at least one coupler that couples a front portion of the convertible recreational vehicle to a rear portion of the convertible recreational vehicle.
  18. 18. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 17, wherein the at least one coupler is a hinge mechanism that allows the front portion to rotate relative to the rear portion.
  19. 19. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 17, wherein decoupling the at least one coupler decouples the front portion from the rear portion.
  20. 20. The convertible recreational vehicle of claim 1, further comprising a controller configured to: Receiving a tether signal indicating that a user has released at least one hand of the user from the steering assembly, and A braking signal is sent to a brake of the convertible recreational vehicle.

Convertible recreational sit-to-stand vehicle Cross Reference to Related Applications The present disclosure claims priority from U.S. provisional patent application No. 63/143,294 entitled "convertible recreational sit-TO-STAND VEHICLE (CONVERTIBLE RECREATIONAL SIT-DOWN TO STAND-UP VEHICLE)", case number PLR-00TC-28247.01P-US, filed on day 29 of 2021, the entire disclosure of which is expressly incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to recreational vehicles. More particularly, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a convertible recreational vehicle that is capable of converting from a sitting recreational vehicle to a standing recreational vehicle. Background In general, recreational vehicles are sitting-down vehicles. In order to increase the use of recreational vehicles, it is also advantageous to be able to use recreational vehicles while standing. In addition, standing recreational vehicles are easier to meet the needs of riders of different statures than sitting recreational vehicles. With these and other general considerations in mind, embodiments are described. Furthermore, although relatively specific problems have been discussed, it should be understood that embodiments should not be limited to solving the specific problems identified in the background. Disclosure of Invention Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a convertible recreational vehicle. Example embodiments include, but are not limited to, the following embodiments. In some examples, a convertible recreational vehicle includes one or more front ground engaging members, one or more rear ground engaging members, a frame supported by the one or more front ground engaging members and the one or more rear ground engaging members, a steering assembly configured to steer the one or more front ground engaging members, a seat assembly supported by the frame and configured to support at least one rider, a motor configured to drive at least one of (i) the one or more front ground engaging members and (ii) the one or more rear ground engaging members, and a floor panel including a surface extending across a width of the floor panel. In at least one example thereof, the convertible recreational vehicle further includes a divider including a first end coupled to the front portion of the convertible recreational vehicle and a second end configured to contact the seat assembly, wherein the first end is coupled to the front portion in a manner that allows the divider to rotate about an axis perpendicular to a plane bisecting the convertible recreational vehicle.
