Claims (15)

  1. 1. A method of combating and/or controlling pests selected from the genus spodoptera, the method comprising applying to the pest, to a locus of the pest, to a plant susceptible to attack by the pest or to plant propagation material susceptible to attack by the pest a pesticidal composition comprising isoxazole tebufenozide as active ingredient a and emamectin as active ingredient B.
  2. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the pest is spodoptera frugiperda.
  3. 3. A method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the active ingredient B is emamectin benzoate.
  4. 4. The method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the weight ratio of active ingredient a to active ingredient B may range from 100:1 to 1:1, preferably from 50:1 to 1:1, preferably from 10:1 to 1:1, more preferably from 5:1 to 1:1.
  5. 5. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an effective amount of the pesticidal composition is applied at a rate of 1g to 100 g, preferably 1g to 60 g, preferably 1g to 50 g, preferably 1g to 40 g, preferably 1g to 30 g, and more preferably 1g to 20 g.
  6. 6. The method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that an effective amount of the pesticidal composition is applied at a rate of 1 g to 50 g, preferably 1 g to 20 g, and more preferably 1 g to 10 g, of the active ingredient B per hectare.
  7. 7. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the active ingredient a is used for preparing suspension concentrates, flowable suspensions, suspoemulsions, suspension concentrate-capsule suspension blends, water-soluble granules, water-dispersible tablets, dispersible concentrates, emulsifiable concentrates or oil dispersions.
  8. 8. Process according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the active ingredient B is used for the preparation of water-dispersible granules, wettable powders, soluble concentrates or water-soluble granules.
  9. 9. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pesticidal composition further comprises at least one component selected from the group consisting of polyoxyalkylene copolymers, acrylic acid graft copolymers, oxygenated hydrocarbons, lignin compounds, lactamide compounds, and ether solvents.
  10. 10. The method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pesticidal composition comprises less than 8% by weight of orthosilicic acid, preferably less than 6% by weight of orthosilicic acid, preferably less than 4% by weight of orthosilicic acid, preferably less than 1% by weight of orthosilicic acid, preferably less than 0.001% by weight of orthosilicic acid, and more preferably 0% by weight of orthosilicic acid, relative to the total weight of the composition.
  11. 11. The method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the active ingredients a and B are applied in a manner that the formulation containing the active ingredient a and the formulation containing the active ingredient B are mixed.
  12. 12. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the method is applied by spraying the pesticidal composition.
  13. 13. The method according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the plant is selected from the group consisting of cereals, legumes, fiber plants and sugar cane.
  14. 14. Method according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the plant is maize.
  15. 15. Use of a pesticidal composition as defined in any one of claims 1 to 14 for combating and/or controlling pests from the genus spodoptera.

Description

Controlling spodoptera frugiperda pesticidal mixtures The present invention relates to compositions of pesticidally active ingredients and to methods of using these compositions in the agricultural field. WO 2011067272 discloses that certain isoxazoline compounds have insecticidal activity. The present invention provides a method of combating and/or controlling pests selected from the Noctuidae (nocuitae), the method comprising applying to said pests, to the locus of said pests, to plants susceptible to attack by said pests or to plant propagation material susceptible to attack by said pests a pesticidal composition comprising isoxazolemetamide as active ingredient a and emamectin as active ingredient B. It has now surprisingly been found that the pesticidal composition or in other words the active ingredient mixture according to the present invention achieves a synergistic effect for the treatment of pests selected from the nocturnal moth family, preferably from the genus Spodoptera (Spodoptera), such as more preferably Spodoptera frugiperda (Spodoptera frugiperda). The pesticidal composition achieves a high degree of pest control, especially a few days after application, such as for example at least 7 days after application, preferably at least 10 days after application, and more preferably at least 14 days after application. Throughout this document, the expression "composition" represents various mixtures or combinations of active ingredients (a) and (B), for example in the form of a single "ready-to-use" admixture, in the form of a combined spray mixture (the mixture consisting of separate formulations of the individual active ingredient components) (e.g. "tank mix"), and in the combination of the individual active ingredients when applied in a sequential manner (i.e. one after the other within a suitably short period of time, such as hours or days). The order of application of the active ingredients (a) and (B) is not critical to the practice of the invention. Isoxazolecarboxamide is an insecticidal agrochemical having the following CAS number 2061933-85-3 and has the following chemical formula: The isoxazole tebufenozide may comprise isomer (5S, 4R), which is at least one isomer selected from the group consisting of 4- [ (5S) -5- (3, 5-dichloro-4-fluoro-phenyl) -5- (trifluoromethyl) -4H-isoxazol-3-yl ] -N- [ (4R) -2-ethyl-3-oxo-isoxazolidin-4-yl ] -2-methyl-benzamide, and optionally isomer (5S, 4S), isomer (5R, 4R), isomer (5R, 4S), and any combination thereof. In the present invention, isomer (5S, 4S) is 4- [ (5S) -5- (3, 5-dichloro-4-fluoro-phenyl) -5- (trifluoromethyl) -4H-isoxazol-3-yl ] -N- [ (4S) -2-ethyl-3-oxo-isoxazolidin-4-yl ] -2-methyl-benzamide, isomer (5R, 4R) is 4- [ (5R) -5- (3, 5-dichloro-4-fluoro-phenyl) -5- (trifluoromethyl) -4H-isoxazol-3-yl ] -N- [ (4R) -2-ethyl-3-oxo-isoxazolidin-4-yl ] -2-methyl-benzamide, and isomer (5R, 4S) is 4- [ (5R) -5- (3, 5-dichloro-4-fluoro-phenyl) -5- (trifluoromethyl) -4H-isoxazol-3-yl ] -N- [ (4S) -2-ethyl-3-oxo-isoxazolidin-4-yl ] -2-methyl-benzamide. When the isoxazole pa ide further comprises at least one of the isomers selected from the group consisting of isomer (5 s,4 s), isomer (5 r,4 r), isomer (5 r,4 s), and any combination thereof, the isoxazole pa ide may comprise more than 50%, for example at least 55%, 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, or 99%, of isomer (5 s,4 r), relative to the total amount of isomers (5 s,4 r), (5 s,4 s), (5 r,4 r), and (5 r,4 s). The molar proportion of isomer (5 s,4 s) relative to the total amount of isomers (5 s,4 r), (5 s,4 s), (5 r,4 r) and (5 r,4 s) may be less than 50%, for example up to 30%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 9%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, 1%, 0.5% or 0.1%. According to the invention, the active ingredients (a) and (B) may be present in the pesticidal composition in synergistically effective amounts. In preferred embodiments, the weight ratio of active ingredient a to active ingredient B (in grams of active ingredient) may range from 100:1 to 1:1, preferably from 50:1 to 1:1, preferably from 10:1 to 1:1, preferably from 5:1 to 1:1, and more preferably 4:1, 3:1 or 2:1.
