Claims (20)
- 1. A fluid containment and dispensing system comprising: a variable volume container comprising: -an elongate body spanning between and defining an interior volume between a first end and a second end; a cap coupled to the second end and including a fluid port, and -A movable floor slidably mounted within the interior volume.
- 2. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 1, further comprising a plunger rod configured to engage the floor and move the floor in an axial direction within the interior volume, wherein the plunger rod comprises a body spanning between a distal end and a proximal end, and wherein the body comprises a plurality of thumb grips disposed between the distal end and the proximal end.
- 3. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 2, wherein the plunger rod comprises a hollow portion, and wherein at least one of the plurality of thumb grips comprises an opening in a wall of the hollow portion.
- 4. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 1, further comprising a plunger rod configured to engage the bottom plate and move the bottom plate in an axial direction within the interior volume, wherein the plunger rod comprises a knob at a proximal end thereof.
- 5. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 2, wherein the first end of the elongate body comprises a lip extending radially outward from an outer surface of the elongate body.
- 6. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 5, wherein the lip comprises a groove extending in a radial direction along a bottom surface of the elongate body around the lip.
- 7. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 1, further comprising a plunger rod configured to engage the floor and move the floor in an axial direction within the interior volume, wherein the first end of the elongate body provides an opening having a diameter that is smaller than a diameter of the interior volume, and wherein a portion of the plunger rod is received by the opening when the plunger rod engages the floor.
- 8. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 2, wherein the cap comprises a fluid port and a cap configured to seal the fluid port.
- 9. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 1, wherein the inner surface of the cap comprises an inclined surface and the upper surface of the base plate comprises a correspondingly shaped second inclined surface, wherein the inclined surface and the second inclined surface are flush when the base plate is moved into contact with the cap.
- 10. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 1, wherein the floor comprises: a sealing portion on the first side; a receiving portion provided on the second side, and A skirt is disposed on the first side of the bottom plate remote from the sealing portion and surrounds the receptacle.
- 11. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 10, wherein the sealing portion comprises a circumferential recess and a gasket disposed in the circumferential recess.
- 12. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 10, wherein the sealing portion comprises a wiper extending radially from the first side of the floor and extending continuously around a perimeter of the floor.
- 13. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 2, wherein the floor is a unitary body and an edge of the wiper is oriented toward an inwardly facing surface of the floor as the floor moves from a position proximate the first end of the elongated body toward a position proximate the second end of the elongated body.
- 14. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 10, wherein the skirt comprises a plurality of axial ribs radially protruding from a peripheral surface of the skirt.
- 15. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 10, wherein the skirt comprises a plurality of legs circumferentially spaced about a central axis of the floor and extending in a distal direction from a bottom of the skirt.
- 16. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 15, wherein the plurality of legs define an arcuate outermost surface.
- 17. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 10, wherein the cap comprises an interior sloped surface and comprises one or more protrusions extending distally from the sloped surface, the protrusions occupying a gap disposed between the base plate and the elongate body when the base plate is moved into contact with the cap.
- 18. A fluid containment and dispensing system comprising: -a first variable volume container comprising: -a first elongate body having a first bore between a first end and a second end; A first base plate slidably mounted within the first bore and providing a seal defining a first contained volume on a first side of the first base plate and a non-contained volume on a second side opposite the first side, and -A removable cap coupled to the second end of the first elongate body; a breast shield of a breast pump head configured to be coupled to the second end of the first elongate body and to direct a breast nutrient into the contained volume of the first variable volume container, and -A plunger rod configured to engage the first bottom plate and move the first bottom plate within the first elongate body, thereby adjusting the contained volume.
- 19. The fluid containment and dispensing system of claim 18, further comprising a second variable volume container, the second variable volume container comprising: a second elongated body having a second bore, and A second floor slidably mounted within the second interior bore and defining a second interior volume; Wherein the plunger rod is configured to engage the second floor and move the second floor within the second elongate body to thereby adjust the second contained volume.
- 20. A variable volume container comprising: An elongate body spanning between and defining an interior volume between a first end and a second end; a cap coupled to the second end, and A base plate slidably mounted within the interior volume, the base plate including at least one of a gasket or wiper, and a skirt around a periphery of the base plate.

Devices, systems, and methods for minimizing fat loss in collection and feeding of human breast milk Cross Reference to Related Applications The present application claims the benefit and priority of U.S. provisional patent application serial No. 63/583,881 filed on day 20, 9, 2023, and claims the benefit and priority of U.S. provisional patent application serial No. 63/562,812 filed on day 8, 3, 2024, which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety. Background The present disclosure relates generally to medical devices, and more particularly, to apparatus, systems, and/or methods for minimizing nutrient loss during collection, transfer, and feeding of human breast milk. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a neonatal ward in hospitals that provides specialized medical care for premature infants (meaning infants less than 37 weeks gestation), low birth weight infants, or infants in need of continuous care for health conditions. Of the 1.4 million infants born annually worldwide, 1500 ten thousand premature birth increases their susceptibility to health challenges due to blocked intrauterine development. SUMMARY In some embodiments, the technology described herein relates to a fluid containment and dispensing system that includes a variable volume container including an elongate body spanning between a first end and a second end and defining an interior volume therebetween, a cap coupled to the second end and including a fluid port, and a movable floor slidably mounted within the interior volume. In some embodiments, the technology described herein relates to a fluid containment and dispensing system comprising a first variable volume container comprising a first elongate body having a first bore between a first end and a second end, a first floor slidably mounted within the first bore and providing a seal defining a first contained volume on a first side of the first floor and defining a non-contained volume on a second side opposite the first side, a removable cap coupled to the second end of the first elongate body, a breast shield of a breast pump head configured to be coupled to the second end of the first elongate body and to direct a breast nutrient into the contained volume of the first variable volume container, and a plunger rod configured to engage the first floor and move the first floor within the first elongate body, thereby adjusting the contained volume. In some embodiments, the technology described herein relates to a variable volume container comprising an elongate body spanning between a first end and a second end and defining an interior volume therebetween, a cap coupled to the second end, and a base plate slidably mounted within the interior volume, the base plate comprising at least one of a gasket or wiper, and a skirt surrounding a perimeter of the base plate.
