Description
Method for operating a grinding mill during production Technical Field The present invention relates to a method of grinding food material, such as meat, at least partly meat, meat substitute, vegetarian, vegetable, cheese, butter or pet food, in a grinder, wherein the food material is provided to the grinder by a hopper and is conveyed by a feed worm to a rotating processing worm, which conveys the food material to a cutting assembly, which grinds the food material, and wherein the feed worm is initially rotated in a first direction. Background Such grinders are known in the art and are used, for example, to produce meat emulsion. However, there is a continuous need to improve the operation of such mills, for example in terms of operating time, capacity maintenance and/or energy consumption, maintenance and/or quality of the final product. Disclosure of Invention It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method which does not comprise the drawbacks of the prior art. This is achieved by a first method of grinding frozen and/or fresh food material in a grinder. The method aims at automatically detecting easily processed food material, e.g. fresh food material, from difficult to process food material, e.g. frozen food material, by measuring the power consumption of a feed worm (. Food material is supplied to a grinder by a hopper and is fed by a motor-driven rotating feed worm to a motor-driven rotating processing worm, which feeds the food material to a cutting assembly, which grinds the food material, wherein the feed worm rotates, preferably at a constant speed, and wherein a control system controls the rotational speed of the feed worm and/or the processing worm, wherein, during production, -The power consumption of the motor of the infeed worm is measured and compared with a power consumption set point, the rotational speed of the processing worm is increased after a delay time if the power consumption of the motor of the infeed worm is below the power consumption set point, and the rotational speed of the processing worm is decreased at least substantially without a delay time if the power consumption of the motor of the infeed worm is above the power consumption set point, and/or -If fresh food material is in the grinder and frozen food material enters the hopper, the rotational speed of the processing worm is reduced at least substantially without delay, and if frozen food material is in the grinder and fresh food material enters the hopper, the rotational speed of the processing worm is increased with a delay, preferably after grinding of the frozen food product is terminated. This solution is also achieved by a second method of grinding difficult-to-process food materials, such as frozen food materials, in a grinder. The method aims at optimizing the filling of the processing worm, thereby optimizing the food product output of the grinder. Providing foodstuff to the grinder through the hopper and feeding foodstuff to the motor-driven rotating processing worm by the motor-driven rotating feeding worm, the processing worm preferably rotating at a constant speed and feeding foodstuff to the cutting assembly, the cutting assembly grinding the foodstuff, and wherein the control system controls the rotational speed of the feeding worm, wherein during production the power consumption of the motor of the processing worm is measured and compared with a power consumption set point, the rotational speed of the feeding worm is increased after a delay time if the power consumption of the motor of the processing worm is below the power consumption set point, and the rotational speed of the feeding worm is decreased after the delay time if the power consumption of the motor of the processing worm is above the power consumption set point. The invention relates to a method for grinding food materials in a grinder. The food material may be meat, at least partially meat, meat substitute, vegetarian food, cheese, butter, vegetables, pet food, etc. The food material may be fresh or frozen or a combination of fresh and frozen food material. The grinder comprises a hopper which conveys the food material to be ground. A feeding worm is arranged at the bottom of the hopper and rotates around the central axis of the feeding worm. In addition, the rotating processing worm is part of the grinder, transporting the food material to a cutting assembly, which cuts the food material into pieces, such that the final product is, for example, meat emulsion. The cutting assembly comprises at least a perforated disc and a rotating blade, which is usually driven by a processing worm. Preferably, the mill comprises a stationary, non-rotating pre-cutter. The mill comprises a control system which controls the rotational speed of the feed worm and/or the processing worm. The control system may have input means, such as a keyboard, for example for inputting information into the control system, in particular the power con
