Claims (15)
- 1. A method for evaluating one or more modifications of a chemical production network, the method comprising: -providing one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications to one or more components of the chemical production network; -providing one or more representations of the chemical production network and/or one or more environmental property contributions associated with one or more components of the chemical production network; -generating one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions based on the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications; -providing the one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions for evaluating the chemical production network.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more representations of the chemical production network are provided according to the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications.
- 3. The method of any of the preceding claims, wherein the one or more representations of the chemical production network comprise production data, production network data, a network-based representation of the chemical production network, and/or a product-based representation of the chemical production network, wherein one or more representations are part of a base dataset stored from a previous computing run, wherein one or more modified representations are generated from one or more representations of the base dataset by applying the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications to the respective dataset.
- 4. The method of any of the preceding claims, wherein the one or more environmental property contributions are provided in accordance with the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications, wherein one or more environmental property contributions are part of a basic dataset stored from a previous computing run, wherein one or more modified environmental property contributions are generated from the environmental property contributions of the basic dataset by applying the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications to the respective dataset.
- 5. The method of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the one or more environmental property contributions or corresponding modifications are related to at least one of one or more input materials provided to the chemical production network, a chemical process of the chemical production network, energy provided to the chemical process, and/or transportation of input materials within the chemical production network.
- 6. The method of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the environmental property contribution or corresponding modification is related to carbon emissions of the chemical production network.
- 7. The method of any one of the preceding claims, wherein generating one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions is dependent on the provided one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications.
- 8. The method of any one of the preceding claims, wherein generating one or more modified representations and/or modified environmental property contributions of the chemical production network comprises determining a difference dataset between at least a portion of the representations and/or one or more environmental property contributions of the chemical production network and a corresponding portion of the modified representations and/or modified environmental property contributions of the chemical production network.
- 9. The method of any of the preceding claims, wherein generating one or more modified representations and/or modified environmental property contributions of the chemical production network comprises determining one or more downstream components affected by the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications.
- 10. The method of any of the preceding claims, wherein generating one or more modified representations and/or modified environmental property contributions of the chemical production network comprises determining modified environmental performance of one or more downstream components affected by the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications.
- 11. The method of any of the preceding claims, wherein generating one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions comprises determining at least one or more output materials affected by the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications.
- 12. The method of any of the preceding claims, wherein generating one or more modified representations and/or modified environmental property contributions of the chemical production network comprises determining a modified environmental performance of at least one or more output materials affected by the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications.
- 13. An apparatus for evaluating one or more modifications of a chemical production network, the apparatus comprising: -a representation providing interface configured to provide one or more representations of the chemical production network and/or one or more environmental property contributions associated with one or more components of the chemical production network; -a modification provider interface configured to provide one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications to one or more components of the chemical production network; -a modification generator configured to generate one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions based on the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications; -a modified representation providing interface configured to provide the one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions for evaluating the chemical production network.
- 14. An output material produced by a chemical production network, wherein modified environmental properties of the output material are provided by the apparatus of claim 13 or by any of the methods of claims 1 to 12.
- 15. Use of a modified environmental property of the output material provided by any one of the methods of claims 1 to 12 or by the apparatus of claim 13 for determining the environmental property of a product produced from the output material.
Description
Method for evaluating modification of chemical production network Technical Field The present invention relates to the field of sustainability, and in particular environmental impact monitoring of chemical production networks. The present invention relates to a method, apparatus, use, output material, system or computer element for evaluating, assessing, quantifying, monitoring and/or controlling one or more modifications of a chemical production network. Background Chemical production networks are mass production of chemical production processes with multiple interconnections. To reduce resource usage, such networks are highly integrated and produce thousands of chemical end products. It is therefore difficult to monitor such networks and in particular to monitor the associated resource usage. Disclosure of Invention In one aspect, a method for evaluating, quantifying, monitoring, and/or controlling one or more modifications of a chemical production network is disclosed, the method comprising: -providing one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications to one or more components of the chemical production network; -providing one or more representations of the chemical production network and/or one or more environmental property contributions associated with one or more components of the chemical production network; -generating one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions based on the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications; -providing the one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions for evaluating, quantifying, monitoring and/or controlling the chemical production network. In another aspect, an apparatus for evaluating, quantifying, monitoring, and/or controlling one or more modifications of a chemical production network is disclosed, the apparatus comprising: -a modification provider interface configured to provide one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications to one or more components of the chemical production network; -a representation providing interface configured to provide one or more representations of the chemical production network and/or one or more environmental property contributions associated with one or more components of the chemical production network; -a modification generator configured to generate one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions based on the one or more network modifications and/or environmental property modifications; -a modified representation providing interface configured to provide the one or more modified representations of the chemical production network and/or modified environmental property contributions for evaluating, quantifying, monitoring and/or controlling the chemical production network. In another aspect, a use of a network or environmental property contribution for evaluating, quantifying, monitoring, and/or controlling environmental impact of the chemical production network based on the modified representation generated by any of the methods disclosed herein is disclosed. In another aspect, a use of a modified network-based representation and/or a product-based representation generated by any of the methods disclosed herein for evaluating, quantifying, monitoring, and/or controlling the environmental impact of the modified chemical production network is disclosed. In another aspect, an output material produced by a chemical production network is disclosed, wherein modified environmental properties of the output material are provided according to the methods disclosed herein or by the devices disclosed herein. In another aspect, a use of the modified environmental properties of the output material provided by the methods disclosed herein or by the apparatus disclosed herein for determining environmental properties of a product produced from the output material is disclosed.
