Abstract

Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communications. Configuration information is received, the configuration information indicating a configuration for an Acknowledged Mode (AM) Radio Link Control (RLC) entity. A set of Packet Data Units (PDUs) is received by a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) entity. The AM RLC entity is configured for retransmission based on at least one condition, wherein the at least one condition includes a PDU set characteristic and/or a PDU set transmission state. The set of PDUs is transmitted by the AM RLC entity. An RLC status PDU indicating an RLC status is received. One or more PDUs in the set of PDUs are retransmitted by the RLC entity in response to the RLC status. In some implementations, the PDU set characteristics include a priority level of the PDU set and/or a type of the PDU set. In some implementations, the PDU set transmission state includes a time-to-live (TTL) threshold.

Claims (20)

  1. 1. A method implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for wireless communication, the method comprising: receiving configuration information indicating a configuration for an Acknowledged Mode (AM) Radio Link Control (RLC) entity; receiving, by a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) entity, a set of Packet Data Units (PDUs); Configuring the AM RLC entity for retransmission based on at least one condition, wherein the at least one condition includes a PDU set characteristic and/or a PDU set transmission state; Transmitting the set of PDUs through the AM RLC entity; receiving an RLC status PDU indicating an RLC status, and One or more PDUs in the set of PDUs are retransmitted by the RLC entity in response to the RLC status.
  2. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the PDU set characteristic comprises a priority level of the PDU set and/or a type of the PDU set.
  3. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the PDU set transmission state comprises a time-to-live (TTL) threshold, a PDU Set Error Rate (PSER) threshold, an Uplink (UL) buffer level of the PDU set, and/or a remaining percentage to be transmitted of the PDU set.
  4. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one condition comprises a network condition.
  5. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one condition comprises a radio condition.
  6. 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the at least one condition comprises a WTRU condition.
  7. 7. The method of claim 6 wherein the WTRU condition includes a buffer level.
  8. 8. The method of claim 1 wherein the RLC status indicates that at least one PDU of the set of PDUs has not been received.
  9. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the AM RLC entity is configured to enable retransmission in response to a value associated with the set of PDUs meeting a threshold associated with the at least one condition.
  10. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the AM RLC entity is configured to disable retransmission in response to a value associated with the set of PDUs meeting a threshold associated with the at least one condition.
  11. 11. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising: circuitry configured to receive configuration information indicating a configuration for an Acknowledged Mode (AM) Radio Link Control (RLC) entity; Circuitry configured to receive a first set of Packet Data Units (PDUs) by a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) entity; Circuitry configured to configure the AM RLC entity for retransmission based on at least one condition, wherein the at least one condition comprises a PDU set characteristic and/or a PDU set transmission state; circuitry configured to transmit the set of PDUs through the AM RLC entity; Circuitry configured to receive an RLC status PDU indicating an RLC status, and Circuitry configured to retransmit one or more PDUs in the set of PDUs by the RLC entity in response to the RLC status.
  12. 12. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the PDU set characteristics include a priority level of the PDU set and/or a type of the PDU set.
  13. 13. The WTRU of claim 11, wherein the PDU set transmission state comprises a time-to-live (TTL) threshold, a PDU Set Error Rate (PSER) threshold, an Uplink (UL) buffer level of the PDU set, and/or a remaining percentage to be transmitted of the PDU set.

Background The term augmented reality (XR) may refer to different types of immersive experiences, including Virtual Reality (VR), augmented Reality (AR), mixed Reality (MR), and/or reality in between. Some XR service and/or application traffic flows may include data and/or Packet Data Units (PDUs), which may be associated with an Application Data Unit (ADU), a set of PDUs, or a burst of data. The PDUs belonging to the PDU set may be associated with different segments and/or components of a video frame or video slice (slice). In some implementations, a data burst may include one or more sets of PDUs that may be transmitted and/or received over a time window. For example, in some implementations, the number of PDUs in a set of PDUs or data bursts transmitted in the Uplink (UL) and/or received in the Downlink (DL) may depend on the type of media frame (e.g., 3D video frame or audio frame). Disclosure of Invention Some implementations provide a method implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for wireless communication. Configuration information is received, the configuration information indicating a configuration for an Acknowledged Mode (AM) Radio Link Control (RLC) entity. A set of Packet Data Units (PDUs) is received by a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) entity. The AM RLC entity is configured for retransmission based on at least one condition, wherein the at least one condition includes a PDU set characteristic and/or a PDU set transmission state. The set of PDUs is transmitted by the AM RLC entity. An RLC status PDU indicating an RLC status is received. One or more PDUs in the set of PDUs are retransmitted by the RLC entity in response to the RLC status. In some implementations, the PDU set characteristics include a priority level of the PDU set and/or a type of the PDU set. The WTRU also includes circuitry configured to configure the AM RLC entity for retransmission based on at least one condition, wherein the at least one condition includes a PDU set characteristic and/or a PDU set transmission state. The WTRU also includes circuitry configured to transmit the set of PDUs through the AM RLC entity. The WTRU also includes circuitry configured to receive an RLC status PDU indicating an RLC status. The WTRU also includes circuitry configured to retransmit, by the RLC entity, one or more PDUs in the set of PDUs in response to the RLC status. In some implementations, the PDU set characteristics include a priority level of the PDU set and/or a type of the PDU set. In some implementations, the PDU set transmission state includes a TTL threshold, PSER threshold, UL buffer level of the PDU set, and/or remaining percentage to be transmitted of the PDU set.
