Description
Protection structure of sensor Technical Field The present disclosure relates to a protection structure of a sensor. Background Japanese patent application laid-open No. 2020-51778 discloses a sensor unit for a vehicle in which adhesion of foreign matter to a lens surface of an optical sensor is suppressed. The vehicle sensor unit described in this document includes a seal having an infrared radar device that transmits infrared rays toward the outside of the vehicle (toward the front side of the vehicle) and receives the infrared rays reflected by the object touching the outside of the vehicle, and a cover that is positioned in front of the infrared radar device in the transmission direction of the infrared rays, covers the infrared radar device, and allows transmission of the infrared rays. In this way, by providing the cover for covering the sensor such as the infrared radar device from the vehicle front side, adhesion of foreign matter to the front surface of the sensor can be suppressed. As described above, it is important to suppress adhesion of foreign matter (for example, water droplets) to the front surface of the sensor from the viewpoint of ensuring the detection accuracy of the sensor, and the like. The present disclosure has been made in view of the above facts, and an object thereof is to obtain a protection structure of a sensor capable of suppressing adhesion of water droplets to a front surface of the sensor. Disclosure of Invention The protection structure of the sensor according to the first aspect includes a design member that is provided at a front portion of a vehicle and that forms an outer surface of the vehicle, a sensor that has a sensor front surface that is oriented toward a vehicle front side, and that has a groove for discharging water droplets formed at a position on a vehicle rear side from the sensor front surface, and a sensor cover that covers the sensor from the vehicle front side in a state of being attached to the design member. In the sensor protection structure according to the first aspect, the sensor is covered from the vehicle front side by the sensor cover in a state where the sensor cover is attached to the exterior design member. Thus, water drops that have reached the front surface of the sensor can be blocked by the sensor cover. In addition, when a water droplet that has entered between the sensor cover and the exterior member adheres to a portion of the sensor on the vehicle rear side with respect to the sensor front surface, the water droplet is discharged through a groove formed in the sensor. In this way, in the protection structure of the sensor of the first aspect, adhesion of water droplets to the sensor front surface of the sensor can be suppressed. A sensor protection structure according to a second aspect is the sensor protection structure according to the first aspect, wherein the sensor cover includes an upper cover portion that covers at least a part of the sensor from above the vehicle. In the sensor protection structure according to the second aspect, at least a part of the sensor is covered from the vehicle upper side by the upper side covering portion of the sensor cover. In this configuration, as compared with a configuration using a sensor cover that does not include an upper-side cover portion, it is possible to suppress adhesion of water drops that have entered between the sensor cover and the exterior member to a portion of the sensor on the vehicle upper side. In the sensor protection structure according to the third aspect, in the sensor protection structure according to the first aspect, a labyrinth structure portion is provided between the exterior design member and the sensor cover. In the protection structure of the sensor according to the third aspect, the labyrinth portion is provided between the exterior member and the sensor cover, so that water droplets can be prevented from entering the sensor from between the sensor cover and the exterior member. ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS OF INVENTION The protective structure of the sensor according to the present disclosure has an excellent effect of being able to suppress adhesion of foreign matter to the front surface of the sensor.
