Description

Sensory stimulating artifacts The application is a divisional application of PCT International application No. PCT/US2018/015823, and China national application No. 201880009799.7, entitled "sensory stimulation artifact", with the PCT International application day being 2018, 1 month and 30 days. Technical Field Described herein are products and methods relating to sensory stimulating artifacts that provide a method for sampling and obtaining product sample packages that reduces the cost, form, and weight of conventional sample packages. Background A sample package of consumer products allows a consumer to try the product prior to purchase. Sample packages are often difficult to handle items comprising containers such as rigid bottles provided with a product, e.g. a fabric softener or shampoo. Some products cannot be provided in a sample package or can be extremely expensive, such as aerosols, which require complex dispensing systems or features beyond those that can be delivered by simple pouches. While magazines provide an effective way to dispense sample packages to target viewers, there are limitations to the volume and weight that they can carry, which is often insufficient to allow for effective sampling, e.g., a dose of laundry detergent or softener cannot be installed in a magazine. In the case where the sample package is disposed on a display within a retail space, a separate dispensing channel is required, the retail space is leased, and a significant amount of waste is generated because the dispensed sample is not yet used by the consumer after receipt. The present invention is directed to overcoming at least some of the problems in the art. Disclosure of Invention An artifact (100) related to a product is described herein, the artifact comprising: -a contactless memory tag (120) CMT comprising at least an identifier of the product, and -A sensory stimulation element (140) SSE, reflecting the characteristics of the product. The SSE (140) may be fragrance releasing and the CMT (120) is a Near Field Communication (NFC) tag. The artifact may be a journal insert. The CMT may be configured to transmit data based on the state of the SSE, where the SSE has an inactive state or an active state. The artifact (100) may also include a user input panel having at least two states, wherein the CMT is configured to transmit data based on the states of the user input panel. The present invention also describes a method of preparing an artefact (100) as described herein, the method comprising: -identifying the organoleptic properties of the product, Incorporating the sample of organoleptic properties into an SSE (140), -Providing a CMT (120), wherein the memory contains an identifier of the product, and -Providing an artefact (100) comprising an SSE (140) and a CMT (120). The method may further include the step of attaching the CMT (120) and the artefact (100) to the substrate. The invention also describes an artefact prepared according to the method. Also described herein is a method for requesting a sample package of a product, the method comprising: Receiving on the smart device (200) an identifier of a product from the CMT (120) of the artifact (100), -Transmitting the identifier and the consumer contact information over the internet (250) by the smart device (200) to the remote computer system (300) to initiate fulfillment of the request, and -Receiving, on the smart device (200), a confirmation of the assignment of the sample of the product to the consumer. The method according to the invention may be performed by a smart device (200). Also described herein is a data stream representing a computer program or computer program product having instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform a method of requesting a sample package of a product to be executed by the smart device (200). Also described herein is a method for requesting a sample package of a product, the method comprising: Receiving, by the smart device (200) over the internet (250), an identifier of a product from the CMT (120) of the artefact (100), -Receiving consumer contact information by the smart device (200) over the internet (250), and -Sending a confirmation of the sample package assigning the product to the consumer to the smart device (200) over the internet (250). The method of requesting a sample package of a product may be performed by a remote computer system (300) connected to the internet (250). Also described herein is a computer program or computer program product having instructions that, when executed by a computing device or system, cause the computing device or system to perform a method for requesting a sample package of a product to be executed by a remote computer system (300) connected to the internet (250).
