Abstract

An artificial intelligence badge issuing system. A new badge for a user of the facility may be generated to physically access one or more areas of the facility. A Large Language Model (LLM) may be provided with access to one or more databases associated with the facility. The LLM can be prompted to automatically complete at least a portion of a badge application form for a new badge or renewal badge for a user of the facility, wherein the badge application form, once completed and approved, authorizes activation of the new badge or renewal badge for the user of the facility. The LLM may automatically populate at least a portion of the badge application form by extracting corresponding information from one or more databases associated with the facility.

  4. 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the two or more information fields of the badge application form include one or more of a name field, an access right expiration time field, and one or more of a date of birth field, a gender field, a height field, a weight field, a hair color field, an eye color field, a picture field, a country ID number field, a blood group field, a nationality field, a job position field, a job category field, and a job site field, optionally wherein the two or more information fields of the badge application form include a hair color field, and wherein the LLM processes a picture of the user of the facility to extract the hair color of the user from the picture, and automatically populates the hair color field of the badge application form with the extracted hair color.
  5. 5. The method of any of claims 1-4, wherein the one or more databases comprise at least a portion of an organizational chart of an organization associated with the facility, wherein the organizational chart identifies one or more hosts and/or one or more co-workers of at least some of the users of the facility.
  6. 6. The method of claim 5, wherein the one or more databases include access rights currently assigned to at least one of the one or more hosts of the user and/or one or more co-workers of the co-workers, and wherein the LLM automatically populates the access rights field of the user using evaluation rights derived from the access rights of the one or more hosts of the user and/or access rights of one or more co-workers of the co-workers.
  7. 7. The method of claim 5, wherein the one or more databases comprise an access log that records previous accesses by the one or more hosts of the user and/or the one or more co-workers, wherein the LLM automatically populates the access rights field of the badge application form of the user using evaluation rights derived at least in part from the previous accesses by the one or more hosts of the user and/or the previous accesses by the one or more co-workers.
  8. 8. The method of any of claims 1 to 7, wherein for a badge renewal, the one or more databases include an access log that records previous accesses by the user, and wherein the LLM automatically populates the access rights field of the user using an evaluation rights derived at least in part from the previous accesses by the user.
  9. 9. The method of any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the one or more databases include a communication log that records communications between users of the facility, and wherein the LLM automatically populates the access rights field of the users using an evaluation rights derived at least in part from the communication log between users of the facility.
  10. 10. The method of any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the one or more databases include information fields from a previously-authorized badge application form, and wherein the LLM automatically suggests a change to one or more of the information fields of the badge application form based at least in part on one or more of the information fields of the previously-authorized badge application form, further optionally: wherein the proposed changes to one or more of the information fields include changes that conform to a naming convention and/or format, and/or Wherein the suggested changes to one or more of the information fields include changes that conform to a facility-specific naming convention.

Description

Artificial intelligence badge issuing system Technical Field The present disclosure relates generally to badge issuing systems for providing badges for access to security facilities. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to using artificial intelligence to assist in automating the creation of badges in badge issuing systems. Background In conventional badge issuing systems, the process of issuing badges to users relies heavily on human input, which may increase the likelihood of error. This also hinders the efficiency of badge operators and reduces their ability to handle the number of badges that typically need to be issued in a particular time frame. Conventional badge dispensing systems suffer from inefficiency and potential risks due to the severe reliance on manual processes. In some facilities, a large number of daily badge releases may exacerbate these challenges, resulting in increased error, delay, and vulnerability to unauthorized access. What is desired is a badge dispensing system that automates and streamlines the badge dispensing and management process, thereby reducing reliance on manual intervention and reducing the risk of error and unauthorized access. What is desired is a way to more effectively meet the daily badge issuance requirements, ensure smooth operation and meet safety standards. It is desirable to reduce the labor costs associated with manual badge dispensing operations and to simplify the manner in which the workflow is operated, thereby providing significant cost savings. Disclosure of Invention The present disclosure relates generally to badge issuing systems. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to using artificial intelligence to assist in automating the creation of badges in badge issuing systems. Examples can be found in a method for generating a new badge or renewal badge for a user of a facility, wherein the badge includes access rights for physically accessing one or more areas of the facility. The method includes providing a Large Language Model (LLM) with access to one or more databases associated with a facility, such as a Human Resources (HR) database. Prompting the LLM to automatically complete at least a portion of a badge application form for a new badge or renewal badge for the user of the facility, wherein the badge application form authorizes activation of the new badge or renewal badge for the user of the facility once completed and approved. In some cases, the badge application form includes two or more information fields, wherein the LLM automatically populates a plurality of the two or more information fields of the badge application form by extracting corresponding information from one or more databases (e.g., HR databases) associated with the facility. Another example can be found in a system for generating a new badge or renewal badge for a requesting user of a facility, wherein the badge includes access rights for physically accessing one or more areas of the facility. The system includes one or more databases including user information for a plurality of users of the facility, access rights for the plurality of users of the facility, and one or more user associations and/or relationships between the plurality of users of the facility. The controller is operatively coupled to one or more databases. The controller is configured to provide access to one or more databases to a Large Language Model (LLM). The controller is configured to submit one or more prompts to the LLM, thereby prompting the LLM to determine access rights for the requesting user based at least in part on access rights of a plurality of users of the facility and one or more user associations and/or relationships between the requesting user and one or more users of the plurality of users of the facility. The controller is configured to automatically create a badge request for the requesting user including the determined access rights. Another example can be seen in a non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon. The instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to provide access to one or more databases associated with the facility to a Large Language Model (LLM). The method includes causing one or more processors to prompt the LLM to automatically complete at least a portion of a badge request for a requesting user of a facility, wherein upon completion and approval, the badge request authorizes activation of the badge to provide the requesting user with access to at least a portion of the facility. In some cases, the badge request includes two or more information fields, wherein the LLM automatically populates a plurality of the two or more information fields of the badge request by extracting corresponding information from one or more databases associated with the facility. The two or more information fields of the badge request may include one or more of a name field, an access righ
