Description

Method and device for recording data of a vehicle status signal Technical Field The present disclosure relates generally to vehicle technology, and more particularly, to a method and apparatus for recording data of vehicle status signals. Background In the event of a vehicle failure, the failure is typically located using a diagnostic trouble code (Diagnosis Trouble Code, DTC) reported by a controller onboard the vehicle. However, due to the complexity of the vehicle structure, in practical applications it is often also necessary to diagnose the specific cause of the fault formation with reference to data of several vehicle status signals related to events that may lead to the fault. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically record data of the vehicle state signal. The data of the vehicle status signal can currently be recorded by means of a freeze frame defined in the unified diagnostic service (Unified Diagnostic Services, UDS). However, this method can record only the data of the vehicle state signal at the DTC reporting time, and it is difficult to diagnose the cause of the failure formation only with the data of the vehicle state signal at the DTC reporting time. The data of the vehicle status signal may also be recorded by a data recording device attached to the vehicle. Such equipment is expensive and the software configuration process is time consuming and cumbersome and not suitable for use on mass production vehicles. Vehicles with SoC (System on Chip) controllers may record data of some vehicle status signals through a logging mechanism of the SoC system. However, the data recorded in the SoC log is isolated and scattered, and the data of the vehicle status signal related to the event causing the failure of the report DTC cannot be recorded in a targeted manner, which is also disadvantageous for diagnosing the cause of the failure. Therefore, there is a lack of a versatile, low cost method of recording data that facilitates diagnosis of vehicle status signals that lead to DTC reported failure causes. Disclosure of Invention In the summary, some selected concepts are presented in a simplified form as further described below in the detailed description. This summary is not intended to identify any critical or essential features of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended to be used as an aid in determining the scope of the claimed subject matter.
