Description

Fixing device for holding a capacitor and electric motor drive having a fixing device Technical Field The present invention relates to a fixture for an electrical device such as an electric motor drive, an electrolyzer or a frequency converter. The fixture is configured to hold different sized capacitors and PCBAs and/or to hold the capacitors and PCBAs at different positions relative to the electrical device. The fixing means comprise at least one protruding portion for holding the capacitor, said protruding portion having a support and preferably having a wall. The fixture further includes a receiving portion for receiving a nut of a stand-off portion, the receiving portion having a connection feature, wherein the stand-off portion is configured to connect a first PCBA, such as a PCBA including a bulk capacitor, to a power PCBA, and wherein the protruding portion and the receiving portion are disposed on a main portion of the fixture. The invention also relates to an electrical application device, such as an electric motor drive, an electrolyzer or a frequency converter, having a fixture for holding a capacitor and a PCBA. Background Complex electrical devices such as electric motor drives, electrolysers or frequency converters comprise many components that have to be arranged in a rational manner with respect to each other. Typical problems associated with the arrangement of components include ensuring that no specific fixtures are required for the different types of components, and that the components can be precisely arranged so as to minimize stress on the components and minimize tolerances, particularly the tolerance chain with respect to electrical connections. Disclosure of Invention It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved fixture and an improved electrical application device with a fixture which overcomes the above-mentioned problems. This object is achieved by a fixture according to claim 1 and an electrical application device according to claim 10. Advantageous embodiments are subject to the dependent claims. According to claim 1, a fixture for an electrical device such as an electric motor drive, an electrolyzer or a frequency converter is provided. The fixture may be a holder or mount that is capable of connecting various components of the electrical device such that the components are maintained in a desired position, orientation, and state. The presently described fixtures are configured to hold capacitors and PCBAs of different sizes and/or to hold capacitors and PCBAs in different positions relative to the rest of the electrical device. In particular, capacitors of different sizes may be attached to the fixture at different locations. The fixture may also enable at least two different PCBAs to be precisely positioned relative to each other. The fixing means comprise at least one protruding portion for holding at least one capacitor, said protruding portion having a support and preferably having a wall. Each protruding portion may be arranged for holding one capacitor at a time. If two projections are arranged adjacent to each other, the two projections may share a common wall therebetween. The capacitor may be considered as part of the fixture. The fixture further includes a receiving portion for receiving a nut of a stand-off portion, the receiving portion having a connection feature, wherein the spacing portion is configured for connecting the first PCBA to the power PCBA, and wherein the protruding portion and the receiving portion are disposed on the main portion. The main portion of the fixture may be an approximately planar structure that preferably extends parallel to the planar direction of the PCBA connected to the fixture. The spacer portion may be configured to separate the two PCBAs and fix the two PCBAs relative to each other. The spacer portion may be oriented substantially perpendicular to the plane in which the PCBA and/or the main portion of the fixture extends. The first PCBA may include a large and heavy capacitor. The invention makes it possible to connect four or more different PCBA variants with preferably different capacitor variants to a single type of fixture, wherein the fixture provides vibration protection for the capacitor connection. The presently described invention thus reduces the number of different types of fixtures and thus provides a cost effective solution, reduces parts count, reduces the demand for production resources, reduces tooling investment, simplifies production steps, reduces development time and reduces time to market. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the support and the wall are preferably oriented in a circumferential direction with respect to each other, wherein the support comprises a connection portion for connection to a capacitor, which connection portion is preferably connected to the capacitor via a snap-fit connection. Thus, each protruding portion may comprise a circumferentially arranged support
