Abstract

Claims (20)
- 1. A rechargeable battery, comprising: A housing having a side wall portion including a base layer, and An electrode assembly accommodated in the case, Wherein the sidewall portion includes a nanofiber web including cellulose-based nanofibers and a polyolefin-based resin provided on one or both of an outer peripheral surface of the base layer and an inner peripheral surface of the base layer.
- 2. The rechargeable battery according to claim 1, wherein the polyolefin-based resin is a polypropylene-based resin.
- 3. The rechargeable battery of claim 1, wherein the nanofiber web is impregnated in the polyolefin-based resin.
- 4. The rechargeable battery of claim 1, wherein the cellulose-based nanofibers are crystalline cellulose-based nanofibers.
- 5. The rechargeable battery of claim 1, wherein the cellulose-based nanofiber comprises hydroxyl groups.
- 6. The rechargeable battery of claim 5, wherein the cellulose-based nanofibers comprise a cellulose-based resin or a cellulose-based resin derivative.
- 7. The rechargeable battery of claim 5, wherein some of the hydroxyl groups of the cellulose-based nanofibers are modified to be hydrophobic.
- 8. The rechargeable battery of claim 7, wherein the cellulose-based nanofibers modified to have hydrophobicity are modified using a silane compound.

The rechargeable battery of claim 8, wherein the silane compound comprises one or more of a silane coupling agent comprising an epoxy group, a silane coupling agent comprising an amino group, a silane coupling agent comprising a vinyl group, a silane coupling agent comprising a mercapto group, and a silane coupling agent comprising an alkyl group.

The rechargeable battery according to claim 1, wherein the cellulose-based nanofibers and the polyolefin-based resin are in the form of a mixture, and Wherein the cellulose-based nanofibers are 70 wt% -90 wt% of the mixture and the polyolefin-based resin is 10 wt% -30 wt% of the mixture, based on 100wt% of the mixture.

Disclosure of Invention The present disclosure is directed to a rechargeable battery (hereinafter, may be simply referred to as "battery") and a battery pack including the rechargeable battery.
