Abstract
A system for calibrating a medical system battery backup includes a processing device and a memory storage device. The memory storage device includes instructions executable by the processor to receive a shutdown request to shutdown a medical system having a battery backup. Additionally, the instructions are executable by the processor to determine, in response to receiving the shutdown request, that calibration of the backup battery is due based on the current date and the calibration expiration date. In addition, the instructions can be executable by the processor to provide a request to perform a discharge of the backup battery for an electricity meter board of a power management board of the medical system.
