Abstract

Embodiments of the present application relate to enhancements for secondary cell group activation and deactivation. A method, apparatus and computer program are provided for causing at least one of storing information, wherein the information includes an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and reporting the information to a network access node.

Claims (10)

  1. 1. An apparatus for communication, comprising: At least one processor, and At least one memory including code that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the apparatus to perform: storing information, wherein the information comprises an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and Reporting the information to a network access node.
  2. 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus is further caused to perform, prior to the storing or prior to the reporting, receiving a configuration from the network access node to store the information or report the information.
  3. 3. The apparatus of claim 1 or 2, wherein reporting the information comprises reporting the information using a mobility history information message.
  4. 4. The apparatus of claim 1 or 2, wherein the apparatus is caused to perform the reporting based on the apparatus switching from idle mode to connected mode.
  5. 5. The apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the apparatus comprises a user equipment, or wherein the apparatus comprises another network access node.
  6. 6. The apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the apparatus is configured to provide the one or more secondary cells, or wherein the apparatus is configured to provide a primary cell.
  7. 7. The apparatus of claim 1 or 2, wherein the apparatus is further caused to perform receiving dual connectivity configuration information from the network access node based on the reported information.
  8. 8. An apparatus for communication, comprising: At least one processor, and At least one memory including code that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the apparatus to perform: Receiving information, wherein the information comprises an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and Determining, based on the information, whether to cause reconfiguration of one or more dual connectivity parameters configured at the user equipment or reconfiguration of one or more dual connectivity parameters configured at the one or more secondary cells.
  9. 9. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the apparatus is further caused to perform, prior to the receiving, providing the user equipment with a configuration for the user equipment to store the information or report the information.
  10. 10. The apparatus according to any of claims 8 to 9, wherein the apparatus is configured to provide the one or more secondary cells, or wherein the apparatus is configured to provide a primary cell.

Description

Enhancement for secondary cell group activation and deactivation Technical Field The present application relates to providing information associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells. Background A communication system may be considered a facility that enables communication sessions between two or more entities, such as user terminals, base stations, and/or other nodes, by providing carriers between the various entities involved in the communication session. For example, a communication system may be provided by a communication network and one or more compatible communication devices. The communication session may include, for example, communications for carrying data such as voice, video, electronic mail (email), text messages, multimedia, and/or content data, among others. Non-limiting examples of services provided include two-way or multi-way conversations, data communication or multimedia services, and access to data network systems such as the internet. Communication systems and associated devices typically operate in accordance with a given standard or specification which sets out what the various entities associated with the system are permitted to do and how that should be achieved. Communication protocols and/or parameters which should be used for the connection are also typically defined. One example of a communication system is UTRAN (universal mobile telecommunications service terrestrial radio access network (e.g., 3G radio)). Other examples of communication systems are the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) radio access technology and the Long Term Evolution (LTE) of so-called 5G or New Radio (NR) networks. NR is being standardized by the third generation partnership project (3 GPP). Disclosure of Invention According to a first aspect there is provided an apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including code which, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the apparatus to store information, wherein the information comprises an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and report the information to a network access node. According to a second aspect there is provided an apparatus comprising means for storing information, wherein the information comprises an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and reporting the information to a network access node. According to a third aspect there is provided a method for an apparatus, the method comprising storing information, wherein the information comprises an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and reporting the information to a network access node. According to a fourth aspect, there is provided an apparatus comprising circuitry to store information, wherein the information comprises an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and reporting circuitry to report information to a network access node. The following may be applicable in relation to any (e.g. one or more, including all) of the above first to fourth aspects. The apparatus may also be caused to perform receiving a configuration for storing information or reporting information from a network access node prior to said storing or prior to said reporting. Reporting information may include reporting information using a mobility history information message. The apparatus may be caused to perform reporting based on the apparatus switching from the idle mode to the connected mode. The apparatus may comprise a user equipment or the apparatus may comprise another network access node. The apparatus may be configured to provide one or more secondary cells, or the apparatus may be configured to provide a primary cell. The apparatus may also be caused to perform receiving dual connectivity configuration information from a network access based on the reported information. According to a fifth aspect there is provided an apparatus comprising at least one processor, and at least one memory including code that, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the apparatus to perform receiving information, wherein the information comprises an indication of at least one uplink condition associated with activation and/or deactivation of one or more secondary cells serving a User Equipment (UE), and determining, based on the information, to cause reconfiguration of one or more dual connectivity parameters configured at the user equipment or reconfiguration of one or more dual connectivity parameters configured at the one or more secondary cells.
