Description
Method and apparatus for transmission in an access procedure in a wireless communication system Cross Reference to Related Applications The present application claims priority and benefit from U.S. provisional patent application No. 63/717,080 filed on month 11 and 6 of 2024, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. Technical Field The present disclosure relates generally to wireless communication networks and, more particularly, to a method and apparatus for transmissions in an access procedure in a wireless communication system. Background With the rapid increase in demand for large amounts of data to and from mobile communication devices, conventional mobile voice communication networks evolve into networks that communicate with internet protocol (Internet Protocol, IP) data packets. Such IP packet communications may provide voice over IP, multimedia, multicast, and on-demand communication services for users of mobile communication devices. An exemplary network structure is an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network, E-UTRAN). The E-UTRAN system may provide high data throughput for implementing the above-described IP-bearing voice and multimedia services. Currently, the 3GPP standards organization is discussing new next generation (e.g., 5G) radio technologies. Thus, changes to the current body of the 3GPP standard are currently being submitted and considered to evolve and complete the 3GPP standard. Disclosure of Invention Methods, systems, and devices are provided for transmission in an access procedure in a wireless communication system. Thus, this shortens the duration of message 2 (Msg 2) listening for Msg2 reception and handles scheduling of message 3 (Msg 3) size and resources, considering the ultra low complexity and power consumption of the ambient internet of things (IoT) device. In various embodiments, a method for a first device in a wireless communication system includes receiving a first message from a reader for initiating a random access procedure, performing a first device-to-reader (D2R) transmission for message 1 (Msg 1) to the reader for the random access procedure, wherein the first D2R transmission for Msg1 includes a first Identification (ID), receiving an Msg2 message including a plurality of IDs, wherein the plurality of IDs includes at least the first ID, and wherein the Msg2 message includes a single size indication associated with the plurality of IDs, deriving or determining a packet size based on the single size indication in the Msg2 message, and performing a second D2R transmission in response to the Msg2 message, wherein the second D2R transmission includes a packet having the packet size. In various embodiments, a method for a reader in a wireless communication system includes transmitting a first message for initiating a random access procedure, receiving a plurality of D2R transmissions for Msg1 for the random access procedure, wherein the plurality of D2R transmissions for Msg1 includes a first D2R transmission for Msg1 from a first device, obtaining or receiving a plurality of IDs from the plurality of D2R transmissions for Msg1, wherein the plurality of IDs includes at least a first ID in the first D2R transmission for Msg1, transmitting an Msg2 message including the plurality of IDs, wherein the Msg2 message includes a single size indication for a packet size associated with the plurality of IDs, and receiving at least a second D2R transmission from the first device, wherein the second D2R transmission includes a packet having the packet size.
