Description
Apparatus, method and computer program product for communication Technical Field Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to methods, apparatuses and computer program products and, in particular, but not exclusively, relate to message 3 failure indication in AIoT device random access. Background A communication system may be considered to be a facility that enables communication sessions between two or more communication devices or provides network access to communication devices. A mobile or wireless communication network is an example of a communication network. The communication device may be provided with a service by an application server. The mobile or wireless communication network may operate in accordance with standard(s) such as provided by 3GPP (third generation partnership project) or ETSI (european telecommunications standards institute). Examples of mobile or wireless communication networks operating in accordance with 3GPP standards are commonly referred to as 4G (fourth generation) networks, 5G (fifth generation) networks, 5G advanced networks, and 6G networks. Disclosure of Invention Some embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with respect to certain aspects. These aspects are not intended to be indicative of the critical or essential features of the various exemplary embodiments of the disclosure nor is they intended to be limiting of the scope thereof. Other features, aspects, and elements will be apparent to those skilled in the art in view of this disclosure. For example, it should be understood that additional aspects may be provided by a combination of any two or more of the various aspects described herein. In a first aspect, a method is provided that includes receiving a message 1 of an access procedure from an ambient internet of things AIoT device, causing a message 2 of the access procedure to be transmitted to a AIoT device in response to receiving the message 1, determining that a message 3 of the access procedure has not been received at a device, and providing an indication to a AIoT device that the message 3 of the access procedure has not been received at the device, wherein the indication includes a retransmission of the message 2 of the access procedure. Determining that the message 3 of the access procedure has not been received at the device can include means for determining that the message 3 of the access procedure has not been received at the device after the first period of time. The indication that message 3 has not been received can comprise a 1-bit indicator. The 1-bit indicator can include a NACK indication. The indication that message 3 of the access procedure has not been received at the device can comprise a retransmission of message 2 of the access procedure. The method can be performed at an apparatus. The apparatus can be AIoT reader devices, the apparatus can include AIoT reader devices, or the apparatus can be included in AIoT reader devices. In a second aspect, there is provided a method comprising causing a message 1 of an access procedure to be transmitted to a reader device, receiving from the reader device an indication that a message 3 of the access procedure has not been received at the reader device, wherein the indication comprises a retransmission of the message 2 of the access procedure, and causing the message 3 of the access procedure to be transmitted to the reader device in response to the indication. The indication that message 3 has not been received can comprise a 1-bit indicator. The 1-bit indicator can include a NACK. The method can include determining that message 3 of the access procedure has not been received 3 at the reader device based on the 1-bit indicator.
