At least a portion of the first electrode overlapping the non-display region is exposed through the second opening, and the second electrode at least partially covers the boundary barrier rib in the non-display region and is connected to the first electrode exposed through the second opening.

Claims (20)
- 1. An electronic device, comprising: a processor configured to provide image data; a display panel connected to the processor, and A driver configured to receive the image data and drive the display panel based on the image data, the display panel comprising: a base substrate including a display region including a light emitting region and a non-light emitting region, and a non-display region adjacent to the display region and including a contact region; a pixel defining layer defining a first opening at least partially overlapping the light emitting region and a second opening at least partially overlapping the contact region in a third direction perpendicular to a first direction and a second direction parallel to a top surface of the base substrate through the pixel defining layer, the pixel defining layer being on the base substrate; a light emitting element including a first electrode at least a portion of which is exposed through the first opening, a second electrode on the first electrode, and a common layer between the first electrode and the second electrode, and A boundary barrier rib on the pixel defining layer, the boundary barrier rib at least partially overlapping the contact region in the third direction, Wherein at least a portion of the first electrode at least partially overlapping the non-display region is exposed through the second opening, and the second electrode at least partially covers the boundary barrier in the non-display region and is connected to the first electrode exposed through the second opening.

Technical Field The present disclosure relates to a display panel and an electronic device including the display panel. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a display panel having improved display quality and an electronic device including the display panel. Background Multimedia electronic devices such as smart phones, digital cameras, laptop computers, navigation units, and smart televisions that generate images include electronic devices for displaying images through a display screen. The electronic device includes a plurality of pixels for generating an image and a plurality of lines connected to the pixels. The pixels receive driving signals through the lines to be driven by the driving signals. In a middle-to-large-sized electronic device having a large display area such as a tablet computer or a smart television, differences occur in driving voltages applied to each pixel, and thus, a design to compensate for these differences is required. Disclosure of Invention The present disclosure provides an electronic device including a display panel capable of applying a constant driving voltage to pixels. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an electronic device that may include a processor configured to provide image data, a display panel connected to the processor, and a driver configured to receive the image data and drive the display panel based on the image data. The display panel may include a base substrate including a display region and a non-display region, the display region including a light emitting region and a non-light emitting region, the non-display region being adjacent to the display region and including a contact region, a pixel defining layer defining a first opening overlapping the light emitting region in a third direction perpendicular to a first direction and a second direction parallel to a top surface of the base substrate and a second opening at least partially overlapping the contact region through the pixel defining layer, the pixel defining layer on the base substrate, a light emitting element including a first electrode at least a portion of which is exposed through the first opening, a second electrode on the first electrode, and a common layer between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a boundary barrier on the pixel defining layer, the boundary barrier overlapping the contact region in the third direction, wherein at least a portion of the first electrode overlapping the non-display region is exposed through the second opening, and the second electrode covers the boundary barrier in the non-display region and is connected to the first electrode exposed through the second opening. The boundary barrier rib may include a first pattern on the pixel defining layer, a second pattern on the first pattern, a first barrier rib pattern on the second pattern, and a second barrier rib pattern on the first barrier rib pattern.
