Description

Infant sleeping system Cross Reference to Related Applications The present application claims priority from U.S. provisional application No. 63/585,112, filed on 25 at 9 at 2023, which is incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth herein. Technical Field The present disclosure relates to sleep systems for infants, and more particularly, to an infant sleep system that easily and safely supinates an infant. Background During the first months of the infant, they cannot control their own movements, and cannot safely move from supine to prone and vice versa. Furthermore, an effective way to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is to put the infant on his back while sleeping, since prone and sideways infants are at a higher risk of encountering SIDS. It is therefore desirable to have a system that allows the infant to sit down easily and safely during the first months after birth. Disclosure of Invention For purposes of summarizing, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features are described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment. Thus, the claimed apparatus or method may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. A sleeping system for an infant includes a support plate having left and right attachment points disposed on both lateral sides of the support plate to which swaddling bags for wrapping an infant are detachably attached. The swaddle bag includes a retaining strap secured to a rear of the swaddle bag having opposite lateral ends with first and second attachment members for attaching the ends of the strap to respective first and second attachment points such that an infant wrapped with the swaddle bag remains supine. In one embodiment, the attachment point is a wire extending from the support plate. In another embodiment, the retaining strap is two straps with a middle end secured to the rear of the swaddle bag. In another embodiment, the strap is an elastic member. In another embodiment, the strap includes a stiffening member to prevent the strap from twisting. According to an embodiment, a bassinet is provided that includes a mattress for supporting an infant, a support plate, and a swaddling bag for wrapping the infant. The swaddle bag includes a retaining strap secured to a rear portion of the swaddle bag, the retaining strap having opposite lateral ends. These lateral ends have first and second attachment members configured to detachably engage with respective first and second attachment points, ensuring that the infant wrapped in the swaddle bag remains supine. According to other embodiments, the bassinet comprises an attachment member comprising a "C" shaped clip. These clips are designed to facilitate easy and safe attachment to corresponding points on the support plate. In other embodiments, the support plate of the bassinet further comprises a first attachment point and a second attachment point extending from the support plate. These attachment points are designed to engage with attachment members of the retention strap. In a further embodiment, the attachment member of the bassinet is a "C" -shaped clip configured with a recess for receiving the attachment point. This design ensures a secure and stable connection between the swaddle bag and the backing plate. In further embodiments, the cradle retention strap includes a stiffening member to prevent the strap from twisting. This function ensures that the belt remains flat and safe, providing balanced support for the infant. In other embodiments, the cradle's retaining strap is split into a first strap and a second strap, with their middle ends secured to the rear of the swaddling bag. This design provides a more flexible and adjustable support for the infant. In other embodiments, the first and second straps of the bassinet are elastic members. This elasticity provides additional comfort and flexibility, ensuring that the infant is safely wrapped while allowing some movement. According to a further embodiment, the support plate of the cradle is placed under the mattress, while the swaddle bag is placed on top of the mattress and attached to the plate. This arrangement ensures that the infant is safely supported and wrapped while lying on the mattress. Drawings The system is described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
