Claims (15)

  1. 1. A convertible furniture, such as a sofa bed, which is convertible between a sofa configuration and a bed configuration, wherein the convertible furniture comprises a seat portion (10) and a bed portion (20) connected to the seat portion (10) by at least one spring (30), wherein the at least one spring (30) is configured to be tensioned in the sofa configuration by a folding action of the seat portion (10) with respect to the bed portion (20).
  2. 2. The piece of convertible furniture of claim 1 wherein the spring (30) is a torsion spring.
  3. 3. Switchable furniture according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the spring (30) is further arranged to be tensioned by the seat part (10) and the bed part (20) in the bed configuration by a tilting action of the seat part (10) with respect to the bed part (20).
  4. 4. The piece of convertible furniture of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the bed portion (20) is hingedly connected with the seat portion (10).
  5. 5. The piece of convertible furniture of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the spring (30) is further arranged to form a floor support in the bed configuration.
  6. 6. A piece of convertible furniture according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a support member (31) is connected to the spring (30).
  7. 7. Switchable furniture according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the seat part (10) is provided with a leg (11) comprising a wheel (12) protruding from the leg (11).
  8. 8. The convertible furniture of any one of the preceding claims wherein the bed section (20) is pivotably arranged to a sofa frame (40).
  9. 9. The convertible furniture of any one of the preceding claims further comprising a back portion (50) slidably or pivotably arranged to the sofa frame (40).
  10. 10. The convertible furniture of claim 9 wherein the back section (50) is pivotably arranged about a horizontal axis in the sofa frame (40).
  11. 11. Convertible furniture according to claim 9 or 10, wherein the back section (50) is arranged to the sofa frame (40) such that in the sofa configuration the comfort side of the back section (50) is directed forward towards the seat section (10) and in the bed configuration the comfort side is directed upwards.
  12. 12. The convertible furniture of any one of claims 9 to 11 wherein in a bed configuration the seat portion (10), the bed portion (20) and the back portion (50) are arranged to be positioned in sequence, aligned with each other and in the same horizontal plane.
  13. 13. The piece of convertible furniture of any one of the preceding claims wherein in the sofa configuration the pretension of the springs 30 is in the range of 90N to 130N, preferably in the range of 100N to 120N, such as in the range of 105N to 115N, and most preferably about 110N.
  14. 14. Sofa bed comprising a piece of convertible furniture according to any of the preceding claims, and further comprising a sofa frame (40), wherein the sofa frame (40) comprises two sides connected by a back axle (41) and a bed axle (42), wherein the bed section (20) is pivotably arranged around the bed axle (42), and wherein a back section (50) is pivotably arranged around the back axle (41).
  15. 15. A convertible furniture which is convertible between a seating configuration and a lying configuration, wherein the convertible furniture comprises a seat portion (10) and a lying portion (20) which is connected to the seat portion (10) by at least one spring (30), wherein the at least one spring (30) is configured to be pretensioned in the seating configuration by a folding action of the seat portion (10) relative to the lying portion (20), The convertible furniture further comprises a back portion (50) slidably or pivotably arranged to the seat frame (40), and Wherein the back portion (50) is pivotably arranged about a horizontal axis in the seat frame (40).

Description

Convertible furniture Technical Field The present invention relates generally to convertible furniture and more particularly to a sofa sleeper that is easily convertible between a bed configuration and a sofa configuration. Background Convertible furniture is an efficient way to save floor area in a limited living space. One common example is a sofa bed, which is capable of providing the functions of a bed and a sofa while occupying space in only one of them. Other examples include, for example, single chairs, double sofas, and multi-sofas, which may be converted into beds, lounges, or couches. The conversion of a sofa or sofa module into a lounge, couch or add-on module is an effective way to achieve multipurpose use of furniture. Typically, convertible furniture is folded from one position to another, such as from a sofa position to a bed position. Folding typically relies on complex and heavy mechanical components that are expensive to manufacture, difficult to transport, and also place restrictions on product design. The furniture manufactured by the method is heavy and inflexible, and is difficult to move and adapt to living environments with limited space. In addition, a user may be required to have great force and strength to convert it, and it is sometimes impossible to perform folding alone by one person, so that the convertible function of furniture is difficult to be fully utilized. From the foregoing, it can be appreciated that there is a need for a light and simple structure for convertible furniture that can be cost-effectively manufactured without undue limitations on design and that is easily converted between different positions by a user. Disclosure of Invention The object of the present invention is to solve or at least alleviate the problems associated with the prior art. More specifically, it is an object of the present invention to provide a spring assisted convertible furniture. This object is achieved by the means set forth in the attached independent claims, preferred embodiments being defined in the dependent claims. In one aspect, a convertible furniture, such as a sofa bed, is provided. The convertible furniture is convertible between a sofa configuration and a bed configuration. The furniture module comprises a seat part and a bed part connected to the seat part by at least one spring. The at least one spring is configured to be tensioned in the sofa configuration by a folding action of the seat portion relative to the bed portion. In this way, less force is required by the user when lifting or unfolding the seat portion and the bed portion. Thus, lift assistance is provided. In addition, when the sections are folded into a sofa configuration, a damping effect may be provided, protecting the furniture from damage and extending its useful life. In one embodiment, the spring is a torsion spring. Thus, when the torsion spring is tensioned in the sofa configuration by the folding action of the seat portion relative to the bed portion, a torque is generated in the first direction. The springs may also be arranged to be tensioned by the seat part and the bed part in the bed configuration by a tilting/unfolding action of the seat part relative to the bed part, whereby a small resistance is created when the seat part is put down in the bed configuration. Thus, a damping effect is provided. In addition, lifting assistance may be provided when lifting the sections from the bed configuration to the sofa configuration. If the spring is a torsion spring, torque is generated in a second direction, opposite the first direction, when the torsion spring is tensioned by the seat portion and the bed portion in the bed configuration. The spring may be made of metal or rubber. The bed portion may be hingedly connected to the seat portion. Thus, a simple and cost-effective production of the construction can be achieved. In one embodiment, the springs are further arranged to form a floor support in the bed configuration. Thereby, additional support and stability is provided. The support member may be connected to a spring, further increasing support and stability. The support member may also protect the user from accidents related to pinching of the spring. The support member may be made of rubber or plastic material. In one embodiment, the seat part is provided with a leg comprising a wheel protruding from the leg, preferably in a lateral direction. Advantageously, the protruding wheels are allowed to contact the ground even when the legs are tilted, so that the legs can still roll by means of the wheels when moving between the bed configuration and the sofa configuration. The bed portion is pivotally arranged to the sofa frame. Thereby, a simple structure is provided while facilitating obtaining an optimal seating angle in a sofa configuration.
