Description
Compositions and methods of use thereof Technical Field The present invention relates to a composition. In particular, the present invention relates to a composition for caring for keratin materials. The invention also relates to a non-therapeutic method for caring for keratin materials. Background Human skin is composed of three compartments, namely the superficial compartment (which is the epidermis), the dermis and the deep compartment (which is the subcutaneous tissue). The dermis is composed mainly of fibroblasts and extracellular matrix (ECM). Such extracellular matrices are composed of various macromolecules responsible for the mechanical strength of the skin, its flexibility, its tonicity and its elasticity, and also for physiologically important functions (hydration, thermoregulation and regulation of skin permeability). These macromolecules include, in particular, collagen, elastin and glycocomplexes (glycoproteins and proteoglycans). Collagen accounts for 70% of the proteins of ECM. Of course, collagen is continually updated, but this update decreases with age, which results in thinning of the dermis. A wide variety of cosmetics have been used to care for the skin, for example to counteract skin ageing by promoting collagen production. However, some cosmetics on the market are not satisfactory in resisting skin aging. Thus, there remains a need to formulate compositions for treating skin that are effective against skin aging. Summary of The Invention The object of the present invention is thus to develop a composition for caring skin which is effective against skin ageing. It is another object of the present invention to provide a cosmetic method for caring for the skin. The inventors have now found that the compositions of the present invention are effective against skin ageing. Accordingly, in a first aspect, the present invention provides a composition comprising: (i) At least one collagen; (ii) Palmitoyl tripeptide-1; (iii) Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, and (Iv) Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-10. The inventors have found that the composition of the present invention can be effective against skin aging by promoting the production of type III collagen and type IV collagen. In a second aspect, the present invention provides a non-therapeutic method for treating keratin materials, comprising applying to the keratin materials a composition according to the first aspect of the invention. In a third aspect, the present invention provides the use of a composition according to the first aspect of the invention for providing an anti-ageing effect on a keratin material. Other subjects and features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become even more apparent from a reading of the following description and examples.
