Description

Lighting device for a motor vehicle Technical Field The present invention relates to a lighting device for a motor vehicle for producing a light function comprising a tail light and/or a brake light. Background The lighting device comprises a lighting unit for generating a light function. In general, the light emitting unit is divided into a plurality of segments, and the light emitting unit is configured to adjust the brightness in each of the plurality of segments to a predetermined value independently of each other to produce a specific light function. It is desirable to illuminate all light functions of the lighting device (such as tail lights, brake lights and turn signals) to the center of the vehicle. "center of the motor vehicle" is understood to mean the center of the motor vehicle in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. However, such a lighting device cannot be realized under the current regulations in force, since the brake light must end 300mm from the vehicle center in the vehicle transverse direction. If the tail lamp and the stop lamp are implemented by the same area of the light emitting unit, a brightness jump and a brightness gradient change may be caused due to a high contrast ratio. This is undesirable for design reasons and may also lead to a reduced recognizability during braking. In order to avoid these undesirable effects, it is known to implement common tail lights and brake lights in lighting devices by geometrically identical functions, i.e. areas of identical size. Alternatively, it is known to configure the brake light to be of smaller area and to accept a sudden transition from bright to dark. Disclosure of Invention The object of the present invention is to provide a technically and functionally improved lighting device for a motor vehicle for producing a light function, including a tail light and/or a brake light. This object is achieved by a lighting device according to the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments emerge from the dependent claims. A lighting device for a motor vehicle is proposed for producing a light function comprising a tail light and/or a brake light. In particular, the lighting device is a rear lamp of a motor vehicle. The lighting device includes a light emitting unit and a control unit. The lighting unit is for generating a light function, the lighting unit being divided into a plurality of segments extending along a main direction. The light emitting unit is configured to adjust the brightness in each of the plurality of segments to a predetermined value independently of each other to produce a specific light function. The adjustment of the brightness may be achieved, for example, by manipulating a number of light sources, such as Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), or the luminous flux emitted by at least one light source. The control unit is used for independently adjusting the brightness of the plurality of segments, and is configured for adjusting a first high brightness meeting the requirements of the brake lamp in a first segment of the plurality of segments when the light function to be generated comprises activating the brake lamp, and adjusting a second low brightness meeting the requirements of the tail lamp or corresponding to the tail lamp which is not used in a second segment of the plurality of segments, and adjusting the brightness which is reduced from the first brightness of the first segment to the second brightness of the second segment according to a preset change function in a third segment which is arranged between the first segment and the second segment along the main direction and is adjacent to the first segment and the second segment in particular without interruption. Accordingly, the present invention provides a lighting device in which the tail lamp occupies a larger area than the brake lamp. The lighting device is not only aesthetically attractive, but also achieves a well-perceived brake light function by approximating the brightness of the brake light along the main direction of the lighting device to the brightness of the tail light. Thereby preventing abrupt brightness jumps. Whereby the human eye perceives a smooth transition from very high brightness (bright red of the brake light) to lower brightness (relatively dark red of the tail light). In particular, the lighting device can be configured to the center of the motor vehicle. While meeting legal requirements that the brake light must not extend to the center of the vehicle but must terminate 300mm before reaching the center of the vehicle. In one suitable embodiment, it is provided that the plurality of segments extend in succession along the main direction. In particular, the main direction extends in the direction of the transverse axis of the vehicle, whereby the lighting device just described, which extends from the outside of the wheel to the center, can be realized. Alternatively, the main direction may also extend in the direction of the vehicle ver
