- 1. The surface cleaning apparatus of any one of claims 1-6 wherein the dirt collection barrel comprises an inner housing and an outer housing, the inner housing defining the dirt collection chamber therein, the outer housing surrounding an outer surface of the inner housing and forming the air discharge chamber with the outer surface of the inner housing.

The surface cleaning apparatus of any one of claims 1-6, wherein a filter is disposed at a junction of the dirt collection tub and the suction source assembly, the filter comprising a first filter region disposed in an air intake path of the suction source assembly and a second filter region disposed in an air outlet path of the suction source assembly.
