Description
Patch containing improved release liner system The application is a divisional application of the application patent application with the application number 201780081812.5. Technical Field The present invention relates to a patch containing an improved release liner system for treating various skin conditions. The improved release liner system allows for quick application of the patch to the skin while minimizing the risk of damaging the patch during the process and also minimizing contact by the applicator during patch application. Background Adhesive dressings or patches are used to cover and treat different skin conditions, such as scars, wounds, insect bites, acne, eczema, herpes and warts, and may be used to mask irregularities while treating skin conditions. In addition, the adhesive dressing or patch (e.g., those containing hydrogels or hydrocolloids) is selected to promote a moist environment and may itself promote healing of the skin condition. This healing effect can be further enhanced by the use of various active ingredients. In view of the often sensitive nature of the skin area and the optimal therapeutic benefit achieved by proper placement of the dressing or patch, there is a continuing need to improve the ease and reproducibility of application of the adhesive dressing or patch to the target skin area. The present invention addresses this need by employing an improved release liner system that achieves rapid and consistently accurate positioning of an adhesive dressing or patch to a target skin area with minimal problems. The improved anti-adhesive system is particularly effective when incorporated into small, thin skin patches that previously lacked an anti-adhesive system that allowed minimal finger contact by the applicator during application, as well as lacked a way to prevent the patch from folding or bending upon itself. Disclosure of Invention One aspect of the invention is a flexible patch arrangement comprising (i) a flexible patch comprising a backing having two sides, and a therapeutic adhesive composition coated on at least a portion of one of the sides of the backing, Wherein the therapeutic adhesive composition is capable of adhering to mammalian skin, and (ii) a liner that completely covers the adhesive composition, wherein the liner comprises means for easily dividing the liner into two parts, each part being in contact with the adhesive composition. In an exemplary embodiment, the means for separating is a perforation pattern, or a slit that penetrates the liner partially or completely.
