A platform lifting type safety protection device is characterized by comprising a shell upright post, wherein two secondary lifting cylinders and two groups of lifting assemblies are arranged on the shell upright post, each lifting assembly comprises a lifting driving assembly and a self/manual switching assembly, the lifting driving assembly is connected with one secondary lifting cylinder, the lifting driving assembly is detachably connected with the self/manual switching assembly so as to realize switching between an automatic driving mode and a manual driving mode of the lifting driving assembly, a plurality of pull ropes extend out of the two sides of the two secondary lifting cylinders, which are away from each other, one end of each pull rope is connected with a sliding assembly which is arranged inside the two secondary lifting cylinders in a vertical sliding mode, and the sliding assembly is driven by the two secondary lifting cylinders to synchronously lift the two secondary lifting cylinders through a power transmission assembly.
