Claims (10)

  1. 1. A centering device (1) for the directional accommodation of cables, having a gripping unit consisting of two gripping jaws (2, 3) which can be moved linearly in a gripping direction of actuation (B) for opening and closing the gripping unit and which each have a tool (4, 5) with tool contours (6, 7), wherein the tool contours (6, 7) face one another in the gripping direction of actuation (B), and wherein the tool contours (6, 7) extend in a cable supply direction (Z) perpendicular to the gripping direction of actuation (B) in order to accommodate at least one core wire of the cable, The first (2) of the two gripping jaws (2, 3) has an arm (8) which extends from the tool (4) in a substantially arcuate path, wherein the opening of the arcuate path is oriented perpendicular to the gripping actuation direction (B) and perpendicular to the cable supply direction (Z).

Background In order to be able to process the cable end of a cable, in particular a multi-core cable, precisely, the cable end is stripped off the jacket in order to expose the core. For further processing, the core wires are accommodated and held in a centering device, wherein the plurality of core wires are oriented as far as possible in a defined plane. After processing, the centering device is opened so that the cable can be transported further. Such a centering device is already known from the prior art from WO 2016/088088 A1. However, there is the problem that the cable is guided into the centering device in a cable-supply direction (which is usually oriented perpendicular/transverse to the cable longitudinal axis) and is guided out again in a cable-discharge direction opposite to the cable-supply direction. In particular, at least one (upper) gripping jaw blocks the path in order to allow the passage of the cable, i.e. the supply and extraction of the cable in the same direction.
