Description

Clasp fastener for a wristband Technical Field The invention relates to a buckle fastener for a strap, comprising at least one housing having an inner bottom and two side walls, which together define an inner cavity for receiving one end of a strap segment, wherein an upper surface of the strap segment faces the bottom of the housing, and fastening means for fastening the end of the strap segment in the inner cavity of the housing. Background Such buckle fasteners may be needle-type or fold-type fasteners. For example, a folding buckle fastener is described in patent EP3162241 by the applicant. This document describes how the ends of the strap segments are fastened to the respective cover by means of a cross bar which connects the two side walls of the cover perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the strap segments. However, such a crossbar requires specific tools to assemble/disassemble the strap segments if, for example, the strap needs to be removed from the fastener to adjust the strap to the proper length at the time of purchasing the watch or replacing the strap. Furthermore, the cross bar itself cannot adjust the length of the strap to the size of the wearer's wrist. Thus, different lengths of strap segments are required. In order to be able to adjust the length of the segments using such a rail system, it has been proposed to provide rails inside the housing, which rails are received in grooves on the lower surface of the ends of the strap segments. Different grooves are provided to enable adjustment of the length of the segments. However, such fastening means are more suitable for strips made of composite or elastomeric material, but are not suitable for strips made of leather, because grooves cannot be formed in the leather material. Furthermore, the device still requires specific tools to assemble/disassemble the strip. Thus, the strap cannot be removed from the fastener without the aid of a tool to adjust the length of the strap or to replace the strap. Another solution to give the strip a suitable length is to provide one length adjustable strip section while the length of the other strip is fixed. However, a disadvantage of this solution is that the strap closure system may be off-centre, resulting in discomfort to wear. Furthermore, in this solution, the two segments are superimposed, so that the overall thickness of the strip is greater. If the strip needs to be replaced, the device still requires a special tool to disassemble the strip. The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks by proposing a buckle fastener comprising fastening means for fastening a strap segment, enabling a simple and reliable assembly/disassembly of the strap segment without tools, in particular enabling the strap segment to be removed for adjustment to a suitable size or replacement. Another object of the invention is to propose a buckle fastener comprising fastening means for fastening the strap segments, capable of ensuring the centering of the strap, each segment being easily removable, adjustable to a suitable size and reassembled. Another object of the present invention is to propose a buckle fastener comprising fastening means for fastening thin strap segments, which are also compatible with all materials conventionally used for making watchbands, and more particularly with materials having a certain flexibility and elasticity (such as leather, composite materials or elastomeric materials), so that the same fastener can be used for different types of straps. Another object of the invention is to propose a buckle fastener comprising fastening means for fastening strap segments, enabling a simple comfort adjustment setup. Disclosure of Invention To this end, the invention relates to a buckle fastener for a strap, comprising at least one cover having an inner bottom and two side walls defining an inner cavity for receiving one end of a strap segment, wherein an upper surface of the strap segment faces the bottom of the cover, and fastening means for fastening the end of the strap segment in said inner cavity of the cover. According to the invention, the fastening device comprises a first lever comprising at least one retaining member for cooperation with the end of the strap section to retain the end of the strap section in the interior cavity of the housing, the first lever being pivotally mounted in the interior cavity of the housing so as to be pivotable about a first axis of rotation connecting the two side walls of the housing and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the strap section, between a first position in which the retaining member of the first lever is remote from the bottom of the housing so that the end of the strap section can be inserted into the interior cavity of the housing, and a second position in which the retaining member is near the bottom of the housing so as to be capable of cooperation with the lower surface of the end of the strap section, and a second lever pivotall
