Description

Suture cutting tool Cross Reference to Related Applications The present application claims priority from U.S. provisional patent application No.63472595 entitled "suture cutting tool," filed on day 13, 6, 2023, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field The present disclosure relates generally to medical devices and, more particularly, to a suture cutting tool configured to cut a suture for use in surgery or another medical procedure, typically in the case of an internal suture, but not limited thereto. Background Suturing is a medical technique that involves suturing tissue together, typically in a surgical or another medical procedure. One type of suturing is internal suturing, which is a medical technique that involves suturing together internal tissues or organs that have been cut or damaged during a surgical or another medical procedure. Such medical procedures are commonly used for various types of surgery, including, but not limited to, those involving the digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. While internal suturing can be effective in promoting healing and reducing the risk of complications, medical procedures are not without challenges. Typically, when such medical procedures are completed, the suture is cut using scissors or the like. One common problem associated with internal suturing medical procedures is the risk of tissue damage due to the scissors contacting or damaging tissue as they are manipulated or inadvertently cutting tissue as they are cut. In such cases, the injury may result in infection, bleeding, or even organ failure. In addition, improper operation of scissors or other instruments may result in tissue tears, hernias, and other complications, some of which may require further medical intervention.
