CN-122029039-A - Multifunctional three-layer fabric
Abstract
The present invention relates to a substrate layer composed of a linen-like material made of synthetic or natural fibers, wherein the fibers are impregnated with a chemical treatment agent in the form of a surface layer network formed on the fabric, imparting antibacterial (bacteriostatic or bactericidal), antiviral, antifungal and hydrophobic properties to the fabric, and a flexible breathable waterproof membrane pressed against one side surface of the substrate layer.

Description
Multifunctional three-layer fabric Technical Field Multifunctional triple layer fabrics are disclosed that comprise both water repellent, hydrophobic and antimicrobial/antiviral properties. Background COVID-19 large flows make microbial environmental safety a primary concern for healthcare. The solutions currently available to ensure microbiological protection of multifunctional fabrics, as in the case of the in-bed environment, have proven ineffective, in particular in antibacterial bedding (bed-linens), which do not provide adequate protection against the various infectious organisms, such as viruses and fungi, that are normally present in the in-bed environment, and do not guarantee that any biofilm and contaminants (biological materials, such as urine, sweat and other fluids, and non-biological materials, such as water, coffee, etc.) that can become the breeding ground for microorganisms are easily managed by avoiding absorption by bedding, mattresses or pillows. Generally, a useful solution is sterilization, which uses methods that promote the production of multiple resistant bacteria, creating significant risks to the health of individuals and the society as a whole. Furthermore, prior art solutions are generally based on materials that show low biocompatibility and are therefore unsuitable for continuous contact with human tissue. Finally, some existing solutions also have the problem of providing adequate gas exchange, impermeability to gases, which is both uncomfortable and may provide an additional environmental factor for the proliferation of microorganisms. The same problems occur in the textile formulations currently used for clothing. Disclosure of Invention The present invention solves the problems of the prior art by providing a multifunctional triple layer fabric characterized in that the fabric comprises a substrate layer, a top layer network and a water repellent film, wherein the top layer network comprises an antibacterial/antiviral composition and a hydrophobic composition which is crosslinked to the crosslinking composition, which ensures that the antibacterial/antiviral and hydrophobic characteristics are not removed from the fabric when the fabric is laundered. In one embodiment of the invention, the crosslinking composition is selected from isocyanates or polyisocyanates. In a preferred embodiment, the multifunctional triple layer fabric of the present invention comprises a substrate layer made of a material selected from cotton, polyester, microfiber, bamboo, lyocell, or mixtures thereof. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the multifunctional triple layer fabric of the present invention comprises a waterproof membrane made of a material selected from polyurethane, polyethylene, polypropylene or other technically suitable materials. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the multifunctional triple layer fabric of the present invention comprises an antibacterial/antiviral composition comprising an inorganic salt selected from silver ions, copper ions, zinc oxide nanoparticles or other technically suitable antimicrobial agents. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the hydrophobic composition comprises a hydrophobic compound selected from fluoropolymers, silicones or other technically suitable hydrophobic agents. In another embodiment of the present invention, the multifunctional triple layer fabric is suitable for use as a sheet, a bed cover, a quilt cover, a pillow cover, medical gowns and curtains. In another embodiment of the invention, the multifunctional triple layer fabric is suitable for use in hospitals, clinics, hotels, medical environments, bedridden patients or hospitality industries. The present invention also relates to a method of making a multifunctional triple layer fabric as disclosed above comprising the steps of: i) Impregnating an antibacterial/antiviral composition onto a substrate layer; ii) impregnating the mixture of hydrophobic composition and crosslinking composition onto the substrate layer of step i), and Iii) Laminating a waterproofing membrane to one surface of the substrate layer of step ii).
