Description

Plastic fuel tank for motor vehicle 1. Field of the invention The present invention relates to the technical field of fuel tanks made of plastic material for motor vehicles and motor vehicles comprising such fuel tanks. More particularly, the present invention relates to a fuel tank for motor vehicles made of plastic material, which is configured to house inside it an oil tank of a fuel delivery module. 2. Solutions of the prior art Fuel tanks for motor vehicles typically contain fuel in gaseous and liquid form. Under special conditions, such as elevated temperatures, dangerous pressure build-up may occur in the fuel tank. It is known to use internal stiffening elements in plastic fuel tanks for motor vehicles to limit the deformations of the fuel tank that may occur due to phenomena of overpressure or underpressure with respect to the atmospheric pressure caused by temperature variations. These internal reinforcing elements may be installed at specific locations within the tank during the tank manufacturing process. Various forms of internal stiffening members exist to limit the deformation caused by such pressure changes. An example of a fuel tank comprising an internal stiffening element for a fuel tank made of plastic material is described in patent application WO2023008206A1, the disclosed internal stiffening element comprising a plurality of posts mechanically connected together to form an annular structure comprising at its centre a coupling device configured to enhance the rigidity of the annular structure, the fuel tank comprising an opening in which a fuel pump can be mounted. Another example of a fuel tank comprising an internal stiffening element for a fuel tank made of plastic material is described in document US8596249B 2. However, the ability of the internal stiffening member is limited to reduce deformation of the tank insertion area of the fuel delivery module in the fuel tank. Furthermore, such tanks require the provision of protrusions in the tank to secure the tank, which protrusions on the one hand lead to a more complex manufacture of the tank and on the other hand require more material investment in order to obtain a sufficient tank wall thickness after the protrusions have been formed by the stretching process. Furthermore, it is often also necessary to provide external reinforcing elements by applying sheet-like prepregs or prepregs to the outside of the tank to be reinforced. 3. Object of the invention The object of the present invention is, inter alia, to overcome these disadvantages of the prior art. More specifically, in at least one embodiment thereof, it is an object of the present invention to provide a plastic fuel tank for a motor vehicle having improved resistance to deformation in the insertion region of the tank of the fuel delivery module. 4. Summary of the invention According to a specific embodiment, the invention relates to a plastic fuel tank for a motor vehicle, comprising a first wall comprising an opening configured for securing a fuel delivery module and a second wall on which at least one surface of a first end of an internal reinforcing element is secured, the first wall and the second wall being opposite to each other, a surface defined on the second wall by a perpendicular projection of the opening for securing the fuel delivery module at least partially covering the surface on which the first end of the internal reinforcing element is secured on the second wall. According to the invention, a plastic fuel tank for a motor vehicle is provided with a second end of an internal reinforcing element facing an opening for fixing a fuel delivery module and configured to receive a tank of the fuel delivery module therein, the internal reinforcing element comprising at least one guiding device for guiding the tank of the fuel delivery module when inserted into the fuel tank and at least one locking device for locking the tank of the fuel delivery module, said first and second ends of the internal reinforcing element being connected by at least one coupling element. The general principle of the invention is based on the fact that the inner stiffening element is configured to receive the oil reservoir of the fuel delivery module inside it, the inner stiffening element comprising a second end directed towards the opening for securing the delivery module, at least one guiding means for guiding the oil reservoir of the fuel delivery module when inserted into the fuel tank, and at least one locking means for locking the oil reservoir of the fuel delivery module, said first end and said second end of said inner stiffening element being connected by at least one coupling element. The invention is therefore based on the discovery that a completely new and inventive solution for a plastic fuel tank for a motor vehicle, which fuel tank comprises an internal stiffening element fixed to the second wall of the fuel tank, which internal stiffening element is configured to receive th
