Description

Oil pan and engine system Technical Field The present application relates generally to oil pans for use in internal combustion engine systems. Background Oil is used to lubricate moving parts of an internal combustion engine. In many implementations, oil is provided and collected in a reservoir at the bottom of the crankcase of the engine, which is commonly referred to as an oil pan. The oil pump sucks oil from the oil pan and supplies the oil to engine components such as a crankshaft, a connecting rod bearing, a cylinder wall, and the like. Eventually, the oil drips from the engine components and collects in the sump, from where it may be recirculated through the internal combustion engine.
