A method, apparatus, and computer program are described that include receiving a sensing service request for a sensing service from a sensing client of a wireless communication system, selecting a sensing method for the sensing service, selecting a sensing device (including one or more radio access network nodes used for one of transmission and reception of sensing signals and one or more user devices used for the other of transmission and reception of sensing signals) to participate in the sensing service based on the selected sensing method, sending a sensing session establishment request to the one or more radio access network nodes, and receiving a response to the session establishment request, the response including providing an indication of success or failure of the sensing service.

  1. 1. An apparatus for a wireless communication network, the apparatus comprising: at least one processor, and At least one memory storing instructions, wherein execution of the instructions causes the apparatus to at least perform: Receiving a sensing service request for a sensing service from a sensing client of the wireless communication system; selecting a sensing method for the sensing service based at least in part on sensing information included in the sensing request; Selecting a sensing device participating in the sensing service based on the selected sensing method, wherein the sensing device includes one or more radio access network nodes used for one of transmission and reception of sensing signals and one or more user devices used for the other of transmission and reception of sensing signals; Transmitting to the radio access network node(s) a sensing session establishment request for establishing a sensing session for the sensing service, the sensing session establishment request comprising a wireless sensing configuration of a transmitter or receiver as a sensing signal for the radio access network node, an identifier of the user equipment, and a sensing configuration of a transmitter or receiver as a sensing signal for the user equipment, and A response to the session establishment request is received, the response including an indication of success or failure to establish the sensing session for the sensing service.

Disclosure of Invention In a first aspect, the present specification describes an apparatus (e.g., a sensing management function (SeMF)) comprising at least one processor, and at least one memory storing instructions, wherein execution of the instructions causes the apparatus to at least perform receiving a sensing service request for a sensing service from a sensing client (such as a user equipment, an application function, or a network function) of a wireless communication system, selecting a sensing method for the sensing service based at least in part on sensing information included in the sensing request, selecting a sensing device participating in the sensing service based on the selected sensing method, wherein the above-described sensing device comprises one or more radio access network nodes used for one of transmission and reception of a sensing signal, and one or more user devices used for the other of transmission and reception of the sensing signal, sending a sensing session establishment request for the sensing service to the radio access network node(s), the sensing session establishment request comprising a sensing configuration for the wireless node as a sensing signal, the user equipment for the sensing access network, the sensing device as a sensing device, and a user equipment failure to establish the sensing session, and a response to the sensing device as a successful session or a reception request to the user equipment. Execution of the instructions may also cause the apparatus to at least perform receiving sensing data from one of the one or more radio access network nodes, wherein the sensing data is collected by the one or more radio access network nodes and the user equipment used to receive the sensing signal.
