  1. 1. A computer-implemented method (800) for performing mobility measurements in a radio network (100), the method being performed by a user equipment, UE, (110) in the radio network (100), the UE (110) being configured for multi-transmission and reception point, TRP, operation, the method comprising: -receiving (810) a mobility measurement configuration (610) from a network node (N1) in the radio network, the mobility measurement configuration (610) indicating rules for selecting a set of TRP candidates for which the UE (110) should acquire downlink synchronization, Performing (820) mobility measurements on TRP candidates according to the mobility measurement configuration, Acquiring (830) downlink synchronization of a first set of TRP candidates (TRP 1, TRP3, TRP 4) selected based on the rules and the mobility measurements, -Transmitting (840) a mobility measurement report (620) to the network node, the report indicating a first set of TRP candidates for downlink synchronization.
  2. 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein mobility measurements are performed on a second set of TRP candidates (TRP 1, TRP3, TRP4, TRP6, TRP7, TRP 8), and wherein the first set of TRP candidates (TRP 1, TRP3, TRP 4) is selected from the second set.
  3. 3. The method of any of the preceding claims, the method further comprising: Determining timing information for the TRP candidates in the first set of TRP candidates, wherein the transmitted mobility measurement report further comprises the determined timing information.
  4. 4. The method of claim 3, wherein determining timing information comprises measuring a receive timing difference between TRP candidates of the first set of TRP candidates.
  5. 5. The method of any of claims 2-4, wherein selecting the first set of TRP candidates comprises at least one of adding one or more TRP candidates of the second set to the first set of TRP candidates and removing one or more TRP candidates from the first set of TRP candidates.

The method according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the steps of performing mobility measurements and acquiring downlink synchronization are performed for a plurality of frequency layers, wherein the mobility measurement report (620) comprises a set of TRP candidates for each frequency layer.
  7. 7. The method of any of the preceding claims, further comprising: -receiving (850) a TRP change command from the network node, the change command indicating a change to one of the TRPs from the first set of TRP candidates, and-changing a serving TRP according to the TRP change command.

A user equipment, UE, (110) configured to perform mobility measurements in a radio network (100), the UE (110) configured for multi-transmission and reception point, TRP, operation, the UE further configured to: Receiving a mobility measurement configuration (610) from a network node (N1) in the radio network, the mobility measurement configuration (610) indicating rules for selecting a set of TRP candidates for which the UE (110) should acquire downlink synchronization, Performing mobility measurements on TRP candidates according to the mobility measurement configuration, Acquiring a downlink synchronization of a first set of TRP candidates (TRP 1, TRP3, TRP 4) selected based on the rule and the mobility measurement, A mobility measurement report is transmitted (620) to the network node, the report indicating a first set of TRP candidates for downlink synchronization.

A computer-implemented method (900) for configuring a user equipment, UE, (110) to perform mobility measurement configuration in a radio network (100), the UE being configured for multi-transmission and reception point, TRP, operation, the method being performed by a network node (N1) in the radio network (100), the method comprising: transmitting (910) a mobility measurement configuration (610) to the UE (110), the mobility measurement configuration (610) indicating a rule for selecting TRP candidates for which the UE should acquire downlink synchronization, -Receiving (920) a mobility measurement report (620) from the UE (110) according to the mobility measurement configuration (610), the report (620) indicating a set of TRP candidates (TRP 1, TRP3, TRP 4) for which the UE (110) has acquired downlink synchronization.
  12. 12. The method of claim 9, further comprising determining (930) one of the indicated set of TRP candidates (TRP 1, TRP3, TRP 4) to alter, and transmitting (940) to the UE a TRP alter command indicating an alteration to the determined TRP candidates.

The method of claim 10, wherein the mobility measurement report (620) further comprises timing information for each of the TRP candidates in the set of TRP candidates, and wherein the TRP change order further comprises timing advance TA information determined based on the timing information.

A network node (N1) adapted to configure a user equipment, UE, (110) to perform mobility measurements in a radio network, the UE being configured for multi-transmission and reception point, TRP, operation, the network node (N1) being configured for: Transmitting a mobility measurement configuration (610) to the UE (110), the mobility measurement configuration (610) indicating a rule for selecting TRP candidates for which the UE should acquire downlink synchronization, A mobility measurement report (620) is received from the UE (110) according to the mobility measurement configuration (610), the report (620) indicating a set of TRP candidates (TRP 1, TRP3, TRP 4) for which the UE (110) has acquired downlink synchronization.

Description

Mobility management method Technical Field The present invention relates to mobility management for user equipment configured for multiple Transmission and Reception Point (TRP) operation. Background In radio networks, user Equipment (UE) typically moves geographically around, or the surrounding radio environment conditions become more important, and it is critical to connect via a suitable access point. In the current new air interface NR, access technologies are evolving to support UE multi-transmission reception point (mTRP) connectivity, including L1/L2 Triggered Mobility (LTM). The traditional concept of a cell associated with a single TRP is changing and the cell becomes a more logical concept where a cell may be associated with multiple TRPs. The node and associated cell may manage resources of one or more TRPs per UE connection. TRPs are typically spatially separated at different geographic antenna locations on the same frequency layer. A key aspect of future mobility management solutions is resource and signaling efficiency for uninterrupted and fast changing allocation of dedicated resources. A problem with the conventional solution is that the theoretical optimal TRP candidates in the downlink DL and the theoretical optimal TRP candidates in the uplink UL will change over time and may not be the same in DL and UL. Since the UE has to wait until the synchronization work is explicitly instructed by the Network (NW) on one or more TRPs, this has the disadvantage of additional battery consumption and time delay in changing the TRPs. Accordingly, there is a need for an improved mobility management method for enhancing radio network performance. The object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional solutions. Disclosure of Invention The above-described drawbacks are overcome by the subject matter described herein. Further advantageous implementations of the invention are described herein. The invention is set forth in the appended claims. According to a first aspect, the object of the invention is achieved by a computer-implemented method for performing mobility measurements in a radio network, the method being performed by a user equipment, UE, in the radio network, the UE being configured for multi-transmission and reception point, TRP, operation, the method comprising receiving a mobility measurement configuration from a network node in the radio network, the mobility measurement configuration indicating a rule for selecting a set of TRP candidates for which the UE shall acquire downlink synchronization, performing mobility measurements on the TRP candidates according to the mobility measurement configuration, acquiring downlink synchronization of a first set of TRP candidates selected based on the rule and the mobility measurement, transmitting a mobility measurement report to the network node, the report indicating the first set of TRP candidates of the downlink synchronization. In an embodiment according to the first aspect, the mobility measurement is performed on a second set of TRP candidates, and wherein the first set of TRP candidates is selected from the second set. In an embodiment according to the first aspect, the method further comprises determining timing information of TRP candidates of the first set of TRP candidates, wherein the transmitted mobility measurement report further comprises the determined timing information. In an embodiment according to the first aspect, determining the timing information comprises measuring a reception timing difference between TRP candidates in the first group of TRP candidates. In one embodiment according to the first aspect, selecting the first set of TRP candidates comprises at least one of adding the second set of one or more TRP candidates to the first set of TRP candidates and removing the one or more TRP candidates from the first set of TRP candidates. In an embodiment according to the first aspect, the steps of performing mobility measurements and acquiring downlink synchronization are performed for a plurality of frequency layers, wherein the mobility measurement report comprises a set of TRP candidates for each frequency layer. In one embodiment according to the first aspect, the method further comprises receiving a TRP change command from the network node, the change command indicating a change to one of the TRPs from the first set of TRP candidates, and changing the serving TRP according to the TRP change command. According to a second aspect, the object of the invention is achieved by a user equipment, UE, of a radio network (100), comprising a processor and a memory containing instructions executable by the processor, whereby the UE is operative to perform the method according to the first aspect.
