Abstract
The present disclosure provides a crash protection device for a vehicle that includes a first connecting member having opposed first and second ends and a second connecting member having opposed third and fourth ends. The second end is connected to a first portion of the power plant, and the first end is fixedly connected to a frame member disposed rearward of the power plant in a first direction from outside the vehicle toward inside the vehicle. The third end is fixedly connected to the first connecting member between the first end and the second end, and the fourth end is connected to a second location of the power plant. The first direction is parallel to a level ground on which the vehicle is located. The second portion is farther from the horizontal ground than the first portion and closer to the vehicle interior in the first direction. The first and second connecting members drag the power device toward the level ground when the vehicle collides causing the frame member to drag the first connecting member toward the level ground. The collision protection device can improve the collision safety performance of the vehicle. The present disclosure also provides a vehicle including such a collision protection apparatus.
