- 1. The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 2 wherein the seal assembly comprises a first interface member in interface with the base flange, a second interface member having a first recess, a third interface member having a first protrusion and a second recess that mate with the first recess, and a seal ring having a second protrusion that engages with the second recess, the seal ring being positioned between the second protrusion and the second recess, the perforations passing sequentially through the first, second and third interface members.

The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 1 wherein the electrode cable comprises a first electrode cable and a second electrode cable connected to the first electrode cable, the first electrode cable adapted to be connected to the electrode body, the second electrode cable adapted to be connected to the potentiostat.
- 5. The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 4 wherein the protective structure further comprises a first sealing connection within the hollow cavity for connecting the first electrode cable and the second electrode cable.
- 6. The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 4 wherein the protective structure further comprises a second sealing connection for connecting the first electrode cable with the electrode body.
- 7. The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 6 wherein the second sealing connection has a plug portion and a plug aperture disposed on the plug portion, the first electrode cable being adapted to be connected through the plug aperture.
- 8. The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 4 wherein the first electrode cable has a length of 30-40cm.
- 9. The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 1 wherein the protective structure further comprises a fastener and a resilient pad for connecting the base flange and the gland flange.

The in-line cathodic protection system of claim 1 wherein the potentiostat comprises a tank, a loop connection location and an electrode connection location within the tank, the loop cable being connected to the loop connection location, the electrode cable being connected to the electrode connection location.
