Description
The invention relates to a wind deflector system with the features of independent claim 1, a convertible with the features of independent claim 8, and a method for controlling a wind deflector system with the features of independent claim 11. Wind deflectors, especially in double-row convertibles, primarily serve to reduce air turbulence in the interior when the top is down. This significantly increases passenger comfort by minimizing disruptive air currents and noise. The main function of a wind deflector is to deliberately slow down the airflow entering the interior from the rear. Retractable wind deflectors are typically integrated into the rear body panel and can be extended electrically or manually as needed. When the wind deflector is extended, the air flowing into the interior from the area of the lowered top is slowed down by the airflow through the mesh within the deflector frame. This creates a calmer airflow in the passenger compartment. This change in airflow reduces turbulence, which can be particularly bothersome at head and shoulder height. For two-row convertibles, the function of the wind deflector is particularly important, as the rear seats tend to be more affected by air turbulence. The extendable deflector ensures that rear passengers also benefit from a smoother, draft-free ride, enhancing the overall impression of comfort and luxury. From the DE 101 21 840 A1 A wind deflector system for a convertible is known, in which the wind deflector can be positioned in the first deflector position and in an intermediate position. For this purpose, the wind deflector has a wind deflector extension. Also from the DE 10 2013 207 954 A1 A wind deflector system and a convertible are known, in which the wind deflector can be moved into different positions. A disadvantage of the current state of the art is that the wind deflector can only be used when the front seats are occupied. If the rear seats are occupied, the wind deflector cannot be used, or if only the front seats are occupied, the wind deflector cannot achieve the desired reduction in air turbulence. It is therefore an object of the present invention to overcome at least one of the disadvantages described above, at least partially. In particular, it is an object of the invention to propose a wind deflector system for a convertible having at least two rows of seats, wherein the reduction of air turbulence is adjustable depending on the occupancy of the seat rows. The foregoing problem is solved by a wind deflector system with the features of independent claim 1, by a convertible with the features of independent claim 8, and by a method for controlling a wind deflector system with the features of independent claim 11. Further features and details of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims, the description, and the drawings. Features and details described in connection with the wind deflector system according to the invention naturally also apply in connection with the convertible according to the invention, and vice versa, so that the disclosure of the individual aspects of the invention always makes, or can make, reciprocal references. According to the invention, a wind deflector system for a convertible having at least two rows of seats is provided, comprising a control unit and a wind deflector movably mounted in a guide, which can be moved between at least one stowed position and a first deflector position by means of a drive unit, wherein the wind deflector is received in the guide, in particular completely, in the stowed position and in the first deflector position protrudes at least partially from the guide, wherein a second deflector position is provided and the wind deflector protrudes further from the guide in the second deflector position than in the first deflector position, wherein the control unit is designed to actuate the drive unit to move the wind deflector into the first deflector position or the second deflector position depending on the occupancy of the seat rows. The wind deflector system is specifically designed for convertibles with at least two rows of seats and consists of a control unit, a movable wind deflector, and a drive unit. The system allows the wind deflector to be moved between different positions, including a stowed position and two deployed positions. The wind deflector is the central component responsible for smoothing and slowing the airflow. It can consist of a frame that holds the actual deflector element, which preferably has an air-permeable mesh or transparent plastic. This choice of material ensures the necessary airflow control while minimizing visual obstruction for the occupants. The wind deflector is movably mounted in a guide, which acts as a mechanical... The guide serves as a base for relocating the bulkhead. It preferably features rails or guide channels that precisely define the movement path of the wind deflector and provide stability during movement and when extended.
