An air guide device (2) for a motor vehicle (1) with a first spoiler (3) and at least one second spoiler (4), as well as a motor vehicle (1) with such an air guide device (2), are proposed. The second spoiler (4) is arranged below the first spoiler (3) in a retracted position in the vehicle's vertical direction (Z) and can be moved into an extended position via an adjustment device (5). The adjustment device (5) has a first adjustment kinematic (6) for adjusting the first spoiler (3) relative to the second spoiler (4) and a second adjustment kinematic (7) for adjusting the second spoiler (4) relative to the first spoiler (3). In the extended position, the second spoiler (4) is arranged behind the first spoiler (3) in the longitudinal direction (X) or next to it in the transverse direction (Y) and rests with a side surface (9) facing the first spoiler (3) against a side surface (8) of the first spoiler (3) facing the second spoiler (4). In the extended position, the upper surface (11) of the first spoiler (3) transitions continuously in the longitudinal direction (X) of the vehicle into the upper surface (12) of the second spoiler (4).

Description

The technology according to the invention relates to an air guide device for a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle. From the DE 10 2020 130 122 A1 A known adjustment device for an air guide element of a vehicle is described, in which the air guide element is movably mounted in a rear area of the vehicle body. The adjustment device connected to the air guide element comprises an electric drive with a servo motor and a transmission device connected to the electric drive. The transmission device includes a belt drive and thus transmits a movement of the electric drive to the air guide element. To increase the effective spoiler area during driving, air guide devices with at least two spoilers are known in practice. To increase the effective spoiler area depending on the operating conditions, at least one of the spoilers is designed to be movable between a retracted and an extended position. The object of the technology according to the invention is to reduce or eliminate at least one disadvantage of a previously known solution or to propose an alternative solution. In particular, the object of the technology disclosed herein is to provide an air guide device for a motor vehicle, as well as a motor vehicle with such an air guide device, which are improved with respect to at least one of the following factors: manufacturing costs, manufacturing complexity, assembly effort, installation space utilization, operational reliability, functionality, sustainability, component reliability, and visual appearance. The problem is solved with an air guidance device and with a motor vehicle having the features of claim 1 and 11 respectively. The air guide device according to the invention for a motor vehicle comprises a first spoiler and at least one second spoiler. The second spoiler is arranged below the first spoiler in a retracted position in the vehicle's vertical direction and can be moved into an extended position by means of an adjustment device. The adjustment device has a first adjustment kinematic for adjusting the first spoiler relative to the second spoiler and a second adjustment kinematic for adjusting the second spoiler relative to the first spoiler. According to the invention, the second spoiler, in order to increase the spoiler area of the first spoiler, is arranged in the extended position behind the first spoiler in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle or next to the first spoiler in the transverse direction of the vehicle. The second spoiler rests with a side surface facing the first spoiler against a side surface of the first spoiler that faces the second spoiler. This ensures that, in the extended position of the second spoiler, the first and second spoilers are as close together as possible. This helps to minimize flow separation in the area between the spoilers, which is known to cause airflow noise that impairs driving comfort. Furthermore, the upper surface of the first spoiler, when extended, transitions smoothly into the upper surface of the second spoiler in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, in order to ensure a desired airflow pattern that generates downforce during driving, which improves the vehicle's stability, especially at higher speeds. The solution according to the invention makes it possible, when the air guide device is retracted, to cover the surface area of the retracted second spoiler with the first spoiler and, in the extended position, to achieve an efficient increase in the effective spoiler area. When the spoilers are in their retracted positions, it is possible to integrate or precisely fit the first spoiler into the surrounding surface or vehicle contour with minimal effort. This allows the continuous profile of the retracted first spoiler to be adapted very closely to design specifications. Additionally, when the air deflector is extended, an effective spoiler area is created that is larger than the effective spoiler area when the air deflector is retracted. The air guide device according to the present invention further offers the advantage that the effective spoiler area can be increased almost independently of the circumferential contour of the rear spoiler and the surface contour. In addition, it is possible to design the upper surface of the second spoiler, depending on the application, to be flat, curved, and/or with defined curvatures, at least in certain areas. The leading edge or side surface of the second spoiler can be aligned with the contour of the trailing edge or side surface of the first spoiler in order to ensure a desired airflow pattern in the area between the spoilers. The first adjustment mechanism can be configured to raise the first spoiler relative to the second spoiler and to allow the second spoiler a travel path from its retracted position towards its extended position and in the opposite direction relative to the first spoiler. Then, in a structurally simple manner, the second spoiler can be moved from its stowed or retracted position be
