Description
The present invention relates to cosmetic agents for the treatment of hair and/or scalp, based on a combination of adenosine and at least one pentose, and to the cosmetic use of the agents. Androgenetic alopecia is a widespread phenomenon and often affects the self-esteem of those who suffer from it. Hair follicle cells are subject to a genetically determined cycle of growth, regression, and resting phases. The hair follicle is thus the only organ that constantly renews itself and therefore exhibits a unique metabolism depending on the respective growth phase. The synthesis of the structural keratins is also linked to this cycle. This cycle is controlled by a small, highly specialized cell population in the hair bulb, the dermal papilla cells, which regulate hair growth through a unique, complex system of molecular signals specific to each phase of the hair cycle. If the metabolism of these highly specialized cells is to be modulated by applying a test formulation, it is essential to specifically target the relevant mechanisms. Maintaining or rejuvenating hair through suitable active ingredient formulations is a challenge for cosmetic research. Topical applications for treating hair structure disorders, such as split ends or breakage, typically involve physical methods in which polymers or structural proteins are applied to the hair. The long-term effects of these methods are limited, and there is also the risk of overloading the hair with conditioning substances through repeated application. Furthermore, the only way to structurally improve hair from the root is usually through oral administration of certain active ingredients. Investigations into the molecular and cell physiological reasons for phenotypic changes during the aging process have shown that, among other things, the synthesis of the structure-giving hair keratins in the aging hair follicle decreases significantly, which is one of the causes of androgenetic alopecia. In particular, the hair keratins KRT86 (hhb6), KRT34 (hha4) and KRT33a (hha3) as well as various cytokeratins (e.g. CK1) are affected by age-related changes. Hair keratins represent the most important structural component of hair. The importance of hair keratins for a healthy hair fiber is demonstrated by the fact that genetic mutations in hair keratins can lead to significant changes, such as deformation and breakage of the hair fiber (monilethix). There are hardly any cosmetic products on the market that can support the synthesis of hair-specific keratins in a biological and therefore sustainable way. The aim of the present invention was to find suitable active ingredients for cosmetic hair and/or scalp treatment products that can be applied topically to the hair and/or scalp, protect against premature hair loss, activate keratin synthesis, and thus counteract hair aging. Furthermore, the condition of the scalp should be improved, which in particular means that the scalp is soothed and its elasticity is improved. Ideally, the active ingredients should be able to be incorporated into a wide variety of cosmetic products in order to offer consumers a broad range of application options. These goals were largely achieved through the combination of adenosine, pentose(s) and a suitable carrier in cosmetic products. A first object of the invention is therefore a cosmetic agent for the treatment of hair and/or scalp, which is contained in a cosmetic carrier. a) 0.05 - 3 wt% adenosine and b) Contains 0.05 - 5 wt% of at least one pentose, where the quantities refer to the total weight of the cosmetic product. In particular, the combination of active ingredients a) and b) enables the development of new product and action concepts for biologically active hair and/or scalp treatment products that counteract or reverse the decline in keratin synthesis, the decrease in cell division activity and the decline in cell vitality. In addition, the combination of active ingredients a) and b) improves hair volume (which becomes thicker again through increased keratin synthesis) as well as the feel and combability of treated hair. The combination of active ingredients a) and b) in cosmetic hair treatment products further counteracts or reverses increased microinflammation and apoptosis. Preferred cosmetic products according to the present invention are characterized in that they particularly stimulate the synthesis of the aging-affected hair keratins KRT86 (hhb6), KRT34 (hha4) and KRT33a (hha3). A preferred embodiment of the use according to the invention is characterized in that cell vitality, cell proliferation and the release of growth factors are stimulated, thus positively influencing the anagen hair growth phase and inhibiting the activation of catagen-associated parameters. The compositions according to the invention contain adenosine in an amount of 0.05 to 3 wt.%. Adenosine is a nucleoside and consists of the nucleobase adenine and the sugar β-D-ribose. Preferred compositions contain adenosine i
